The day’s action begins at 6:10pm ET with the Toronto Raptors hosting Trae Young, Dejounte Murray and the Atlanta Hawks. An hour later, we see Franz Wagner lead the Orlando Magic against the surprisingly competitive Indiana Pacers, with Tyrese Haliburton playing at an exceptionally high level.
Joel Embiid takes the Sixers, who are without Tyrese Maxey and James Harden, into a duel with the Minnesota Timberwolves in Philadelphia. Off the back of a Lauri Markkanen-inspired win on Friday, the Utah Jazz are in the Pacific Northwest to take on the Portland Trail Blazers. The night wraps up with the Clippers, who have Kawhi Leonard available again, at home to the San Antonio Spurs.

The players with the highest over/unders for the night are Joel Embiid (34.5 points), Rudy Gobert and Embiid (12.5 rebounds), and Trae Young (9.5 assists).

Pick #1: Joel Embiid Over 34.5 Points
The Sixers are without 46.2 field goal attempts per game from James Harden, Tyrese Maxey and Tobias Harris. After a slow start to the season, Joel Embiid has been at his dominant best of late, even when sharing the hardwood with some of Philly’s other core players. The two-time MVP runner-up has got up 25 or more field goal attempts in each of the last three games — if the Sixers are to cover the spread as favorites on Saturday, he needs that kind of usage against the Timberwolves.
This line might seem outrageously high, but Embiid has scored 42, 59 and 32 in his last three. He dropped 34 and 42 on the Timberwolves last season, 37 in 26 minutes the year before, and scored 40 against Rudy Gobert’s Utah Jazz in 2020-21.
Embiid continues to dominate 🔥

Embiid has that unguardable swagger back. He is getting to the free-throw line at will, averaging 14.8 shots from the charity stripe per game over his last five. Only Ja Morant is averaging more field goal attempts over that spell, too.
Minnesota has been one of the league’s most disappointing teams. Often looking lost on defense, Chris Finch is searching for a functional scheme, and they languish down in 21st in defensive rating. With the Sixers missing so much firepower, Embiid has to take over in this game. Look out for another historic stat line from The Process.
Pick: Joel Embiid over 34.5 points (-113)
Pick #2: Anfernee Simons Over 3.5 Threes
Portland has started strongly, with their defensive additions providing support for the high-octane backcourt of Dame Lillard and Anfernee Simons. The latter has picked up where he left off in his breakout 2021-22 season, and will be eyeing another big night with the Blazers favored by four over the Jazz.
The only player taking more three-point attempts per game than Anfernee Simons this season is the greatest shooter in the history of the sport. Simons is making 38.1% of his looks from downtown, too, and has been combining efficiency with volume of late.

The Jazz have done well at limiting outside shots, and have ridden some luck with opponents missing from beyond the arc. It is hard to deter Simons from downtown, though, as illustrated by his 10.7 three-point attempts per game over the last six.
Simons has passed this line in each of the last four and eight of the previous 10. This over is great value at +102.
Pick: Anfernee Simons over 3.5 threes (+102)
