After defeating Nadal in the opening round, Fritz becomes the slight favorite to win this match.
Ruud Shuts Down Felix Auger-Aliassime
This was a match to watch. Auger-Aliassime headed into the match playing some of his best tennis he has ever played. He had come off a few tournament wins, and at one point had a 16-match win streak. And it was Ruud who has actually struggled a bit recently.
Both players came out the gate swinging on the weekend. The two were solid, and were playing tight, clean tennis. It was such a close match that the first set went to tiebreak, with Ruud taking it 7(7)-6(4).
2021 semifinalist Casper Ruud doesn't face a break point all match and beats Felix Auger-Aliassime, the in form player of the last few months, 7-6(4), 6-4, to get a winning start at the ATP Finals.
Just Ruud's 3rd top 10 win of the year, 2nd against Auger-Aliassime.

Once again in the second set, the two came out with the same intensity. But it was Ruud who managed to pull away at times. The Norwegian ended up going onto to win 7(7)-6(4), 6-4.
Fritz Upsets Nadal
It’s not everyday someone beats Nadal, but on Sunday, Fritz saw himself up against one of the greatest of all time, and No. 1 seed.
The 25-year old outplayed the Spaniard, as he stayed calm and collected from start to finish. He was strong on serve, which was a huge asset for him in the match, and managed a few break points. He managed to steal the first set in a tiebreak.

To open the second set, both players were playing strong and holding their own. It wasn’t until the American managed to win five games in a row to secure the win, and send Nadal home for the year.
He went onto defeat Nadal 7(7)-6(3), 6-1. With the win, he is now on the top his groups leaderboard.
First Meeting
Not much to go off of between these two, as they’ve surprisingly never faced each other on tour before.

Ruud vs Fritz Pick
This will be the match to watch later today. The two will go head-to-head and it could really go either way. It will ultimately come down to whoever is able to minimize their unforced errors, and take advantage of when their opponent makes a mistake.
Both players had huge first round wins, and will be coming into the match with confidence. But regardless of the winner here, look for the match to go the distance. That’s where the best bet will be.
