Juventus vs Lazio is the most anticipated Serie A match this weekend, between two top-four sides. With a win, the Old Lady could potentially jump to as high as second place. Considering Juventus’ horrid start, which had them closer to the bottom half, this would be a monumental achievement before the World Cup break. Furthermore, it would put them closer to first-place Napoli who sit on an impressive 38 points.
Conversely, Lazio are looking to win their third consecutive Serie A match this weekend. This is an improvement from two back-to-back losses at the hands of Salernitana and Feyenoord just last week.
Nonetheless, Sunday’s challenge will be extremely difficult for a Lazio side that is just welcoming back the talents of star striker, Ciro Immobile. Additionally, they will also be without attacker, Mattia Zaccagni, who has started in 17 of their 20 matches across all competitions this season.

Overall, Juventus has negative moneyline odds of -113, while Lazio have much longer odds at +310. This means that Juventus has an implied win probability of 53.05%.
In short, Lazio are winless in their last five Serie A matches against Juventus. Moreover, you have to track all the way back to 2017 to find the last time Lazio snatched a Serie A win at the Allianz Stadium in Turin.

Juventus vs Lazio Over/Under
Also, this match is expected to be quite tame in terms of goals, with the odds on under 2.5 total goals at -129. On the other hand, the over at this amount has plus odds at +105. While this match does feature two of Italy’s top defenses, the over on 2.5 total goals has hit in 75% of their last eight head-to-head encounters.

However, I think I side with the under on Sunday afternoon. With the World Cup just two weeks away, players are going to be extra cautious on this final matchday. This is not to say they will not be going 100%, especially in a meaningful match. But, I would not expect an end-to-end goal fest either.

“No” on Both Teams to Score
Another area I had my eye on is the both teams to score market. Betting against both teams to score gets you odds of -107, which is the less favored option. Nonetheless, this play has hit in the last eight Serie A matches for Juventus, and the last three across all competitions for Lazio. This will be a defensive duel, and one that could easily be won by who breaks through first.

Juventus vs Lazio Prediction
Finally, let’s quickly analyze the outcome of this massive Serie A fixture. Juventus seems to have finally hedged their injury crisis to a manageable point. Still, Allegri is still without the services of Paul Pogba, Federico Chiesa, and Mattia de Sciglio, while Alex Sandro also is a scratch due to suspension.

Yet, based on the recent form of Juventus, they should cruise to another victory here. They have five consecutive clean sheets in Serie A, much to the praise of a solid back line, anchored by Gleison Bremer, Danilo and Leonardo Bonucci. On top of this, I favor Weston McKennie to start, which would bolster their midfield.
For Lazio, their attack has just dried up without Ciro Immobile. The fact that they have only been expected to score an average of 0.93 goals across their last three matches tells the story. Immobile did feature against Monza, but only for a handful of minutes, which will leave him and Lazio unprepared for this massive test.
Pick: Juventus ML (-113) + “No” on BTTS (-107)
