Chelsea lead Salzburg by a single point at the top of Group E and with just two games to go, and a win here would be enough to send the Blues through to the knockout phase. With AC Milan just two points behind Salzburg neither team can really afford to lose this.

FC Salzburg vs Chelsea Prediction
Salzburg are currently unbeaten in the group but an inability to turn draws into wins has left them with plenty of work to do before they can plan for the knockout phase. Their only win so far came in their home tie with Dinamo Zagreb but they have been solid and their draw in west London on Matchday 2 was outstanding.
Importantly, their chances of making it into the next phase are still in their control, and a win over Chelsea, even with a game remaining, would be enough to take them through if Milan and Zagreb were to draw the other game.

Fortress Salzburg
The Austrians are currently on a fabulous run, both domestically and in Europe, and are 16 games unbeaten. They have, however, drawn several of those games, including one at the weekend when they drew 0-0 with rivals Sturm Graz, and worth noting is that they have won just two of their last nine Champions League games.
But, equally worthy of note, is the fact they haven’t lost a Champions League on home soil since December 2020, and along the way have avoided defeat against AC Milan, Sevilla, Bayern Munich, and Lille.

Chelsea a Win Away From the Knockout Phase
It’s been a mixed campaign so far for Graham’s Potter’s Blues. Two thrilling wins over AC Milan have been partly offset by an opening-day defeat in Zagreb and a disappointing home draw with Salzburg, but the two wins have been enough to give them control of the group and a win in the Red Bull Arena will guarantee them a top-two finish.
The Blues can’t however claim the top spot just yet – even with a win – as in a very tight group, only three points separate the Blues and bottom-of-the-table Dinamo Zagreb.

Unbeaten under Potter
Chelsea come into this off the back of consecutive draws in the EPL, with the latest coming on Sunday when they drew at home with Manchester United. It was a game they could have won after taking the lead through an 87th-minute Jorginho penalty but four minutes into injury Casemiro leveled for the Red Devils.
The Blues have been very tight defensively of late – another against United would have made it six in a row – and since the arrival of Potter in early September they are unbeaten.
