NFL Week 7 upset picks: Jets Poised to Extend Win Streak

Victorious in just two games last season, the Jets have already doubled that win total during their current three-game win streak. However, that recent success has yet to have an impact on the sportsbooks, where New York lags as a 1-point underdog in the NFL Week 7 odds ahead of Sunday afternoon’s visit to Denver.

The Jets’ current surge coincides with the return of starting quarterback Zach Wilson from an injury. But it is tough to overlook the performance of the New York defense, which has limited opponents to just 15.7 points per game and just one total scoring pass over that stretch.

Currently, the lowest-scoring team in the NFL, the Broncos’ attack misfired again in last week’s loss to Los Angeles and has now failed to score a TD in two straight contests. With Denver also struggling with a rash of injuries – including a hamstring injury that limited quarterback Russell Wilson in practice all week and left his status as questionable for Sunday – look for their woes to continue.

Injuries a Factor as Seahawks Visit Chargers

The Seattle Seahawks extended their steady start last weekend with their third outright victory as betting underdogs, knocking off the visiting Arizona Cardinals 19-9. After opening their campaign amid tempered expectations in the wake of Russell Wilson’s offseason departure, this team has found ways to exploit the weaknesses and mistakes of struggling opponents in each of their three wins.

Now it’s the Los Angeles Chargers’ turn to face the Seahawks, perched as 5-point home favorites in the Week 7 NFL odds. The Chargers return to action on limited rest after extending their current SU win streak to three games with a 19-16 win over Denver on Monday Night Football. But after seeing his run of 27 straight games with a scoring pass end in last week’s win, questions linger about the health of quarterback Justin Herbert, who was limited by a rib injury earlier in the season.

Joining Herbert in the Chargers clinic are receivers Keenan Allen and Josh Palmer, as well as kicker Dustin Hopkins, whose four field goals were the difference in last week’s win. Los Angeles has also struggled to shut down opposing rushers and will have its hands full containing Seahawks rookie Kenneth Walker III, who has compiled 185 rushing yards and two scores over the past two weeks.

Can 49ers Extend Home Win Streak?

It has been a tale of two teams in San Francisco, where the 49ers have lost four of five on the road, but enter Sunday’s home date with the Kansas City Chiefs riding a six-game home win streak.

Reeling from last weekend’s stunning 28-14 loss in Atlanta, the 49ers softened the blow by pulling the trigger on a deal with Carolina to acquire rusher Christian McCaffrey. He is expected to be in the lineup when they hit the gridiron at Levi’s Stadium on Sunday as 1-point underdogs. The addition of McCaffrey bolsters a backfield that struggled to produce against the Falcons. It could however cause huge headaches for a Chiefs defense that has been exploited by big rushing performances in each of the past two weeks.

Niners quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo should also enjoy a little more breathing run after tossing two picks last week, thanks to injuries among the Chiefs’ defense. Most notable among those is cornerback Rashad Fenton, who has been ruled out of Sunday’s game with a hamstring injury.

Adding to the appeal of the Niners as an upset pick is their current six-game home win streak versus the Chiefs that dates back to 1971, during which Kansas City has scored an average of just nine points per game.
