Barstool are not anticipating a goal-fest with under 2.5 listed at -115, while over is also very short at -108.

The Graham Potter revolution at Stamford Bridge is well underway. Despite a slowish start to his reign – after he was chosen to replace the sacked Thomas Tuchel – the Blues won five games on the spin and, despite a midweek draw with Brentford, have managed to stay in touch with leaders Arsenal. Despite the Gunners only dropping three points all season, Chelsea are only seven points behind.

Chelsea’s form in Europe has been good too and last week they traveled to the fearsome San Siro in Milan to face AC Milan and came away with a fine 2-0 win.  As a result they now top Group E with two games to go.

Potter Already Victorious Over United

Interestingly, Potter has already enjoyed success over United this season after his Brighton team beat United 2-1 at Old Trafford on opening day. While a lot has changed at United since then, it serves as notice to Erik ten Hag that Potter has had the measure of his tactics.

Potter has a few injury concerns to deal with, with Reece James and Wesley Fofana both ruled out with knee problems while N’Golo Kante will be out until at least February after having surgery on a troublesome hamstring.

The Ronaldo Sideshow

Erik ten Haag should have been delighted by United’s excellent 2-0 home win over Tottenham in midweek but instead found himself at the center of a storm surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portuguese star reportedly refused to come off the bench during the midweek win and instead returned to the changing rooms before the end of the game.

As a result, Ronaldo has been left out of the squad for today’s game but that shouldn’t overshadow what was a good win and performance, and the fact that United’s early season problems now appear to be behind them.

Good Test for Ten Haag’s Men

Since a disastrous Manchester Derby on October 2, United have won four and drawn one, and the United faithful has started to warm to the work of ten Haag as he looks to bring back the good times to Old Trafford. This trip to Chelsea will be a good barometer of their progress and how much work is still left to do.

The Dutchman has not been helped by an ever-growing injury list, but there is such depth in this United squad they still have sufficient quality to go to places like Stamford Bridge and come away with something.
