The third edition of the WTA Agel Open, also known as the Ostrava Open, will begin with the round of 32 on Monday, October 3rd. Defending champion Anett Kontaveit is currently listed at +1000 to win the tournament, and will open her week up against a winner in the first round, as she received a bye. It’s bound to be an exciting week as four of the Top 5 WTA players in the world are competing, as well as a handful of Grand Slam champions.
The WTA 500 tournament will include a 28-player singles draw.
WTA Agel Open Odds
Player | Odds |
---|---|
[1] Iga Swiatek | +225 |
Karolina Pliskova | +800 |
[7] Beatriz Haddad Maia | +1000 |
[3] Anett Kontaveit | +1000 |
Barbora Krejcikova | +1000 |
No surprise that World No. 1 Iga Swiatek is the favorite heading into the week. The 21-year returns to tennis after since winning her seventh title of the season at the US Open. She has been enjoying some well deserved time off.
Best Bet
Swiatek might come out a bit rusty, but don’t expect that to last long. The Polish star has had herself a career-defining year, and just because she took some time off doesn’t mean she’s out of the conversation. Expect for Swiatek to come back looking to continue her success.

Madison Keys vs Elena Rybakina Prediction
These two have faced each other two times before, and they’ve both happened earlier this year. Keys currently holds the head-to-head record at 2-0, after defeating Rybakina in the round of 32 at the French Open, and the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Open.
Keys has had a respectful 2022, having captured her first title since 2019, and having a few deep runs at tournaments. She’s had her ups and downs, and has battled a bit of injury. She skipped Wimbledon this year due injury, but has looked to healed up nicely. Most recently she made it to the third round of the US Open, but lost in the opening round of the Tallinn Open just last week.
Rybakina herself has had a year she won’t soon forget. The 23-year won her maiden Grand Slam, when she won Wimbledon earlier this year. But aside from the Grand Slam win, she has had quite a few ups and downs.
These two are familiar with each other. Rybakina will be looking to capture her first win against Keys, while Keys will look to continue her win streak against Rybakina. But this match will come down to her can control their serve and minimize their unforced error count. Given Keys success against Rybakina, look for her to come out on top.
Best Bet: Keys (+120)
Jil Teichmann vs Tereza Martincova Prediction
These two have faced each other in over two years, but they have played each other once before. The two went head-to-head in the qualifying round in 2020 in Dubai, where Martincova won in straight sets.
The two are scheduled to meet on Monday, in the round of 32 at 1:15pm ET on Center Court.
Teichmann will desperately be looking for a win. The Swiss has been struggling with consistency as of late, but she’ll look to come into the tournament on a fresh slate. She’s struggled on indoor hard surfaces, and clay is statistically her best, so this will be a tougher tournament for her.
Martincova will be playing in front of a home crowd, which should work in her favor. She’s stronger on offense, as she really struggles to defend anything, resulting in more than necessary unforced errors. Despite not having had a deep run at a tournament recently, she’ll look to do that at home.
Best Bet: Over 2.5 sets (+138)
