NFL action returns to London on Sunday morning, although schedule makers didn’t do fans across the pond any favors. They’re sending over the Vikings (2-1) to take on the Saints (1-2), two teams ranked in the bottom half of the league in scoring and who may not offer the most when it comes to Vikings vs Saints props.
The game features a total of just 41.5, one of the lowest on the Week 4 slate. New Orleans will start backup QB Andy Dalton for the injured Jameis Winston, with his second-leading receiver Michael Thomas also out.
Even without Winston and Thomas, the contest features plenty of exciting players, although it remains to be seen if Dalton can maximize the talent of his teammates.
Names like Justin Jefferson, Kirk Cousins and Alvin Kamara will all draw plenty of action in the Vikings vs Saints player props market, but we’re going to look elsewhere to start.
Our Vikings vs Saints props card begins with Alexander Mattison, who should see additional work with Dalvin Cook banged up. Check out the odds below, plus an analysis on which player prop bets to target for your Vikings vs Saints picks.

Mattison’s rushing yards over/under is 43 yards lower than Cook’s which is simply too wide. Cook didn’t even make it out of the second quarter last week versus Detroit, while the New Orleans’ run defense has been very attackable all season.

Pick #1: Alexander Mattison Over 22.5 Rushing Yards
Minnesota is a 3-point favorite in the Week 4 NFL odds. If oddsmakers are correct and the Vikings are able to build a lead, they’re going to rely heavily on their running game. Minnesota has rushed the ball just 36 times total over the past two weeks, but they were in catch-up in both of those contests from the jump. The one game they did lead throughout, they rushed 28 times.
Mattison has cleared 22.5 rushing yards in five straight outings where he’s received at least six attempts. He’s already cutting into Cook’s workload, and with Cook nursing a shoulder injury he should earn a few more carries even if the game is close. If the contest turns out to be lopsided in Minny’s favor, Mattison will soar over his prop with ease barring injury.

New Orleans has allowed an average of 139.3 rushing yards per game this season, the seventh-worst mark in the NFL. Last week, they coughed up 145 yards to Carolina on the ground, surrendering 4.7 yards per clip.
Pick: Alexander Mattison Over 22.5 Rushing Yards (-120), 1 unit
Pick #2: Kirk Cousins Under 254.5 Passing Yards
It took Cousins 41 attempts to gain 260 passing yards last week against the Lions’ bottom-four ranked secondary. The week before, he threw the ball 46 times at Philly for only 221 yards. He’s completed only 58% of his passes during that stretch, and Minnesota would be wise to lean on the run against the Saints.

As we mentioned, New Orleans struggles versus enemy rushers. That’s not the case against opposing wide receivers. The Saints grade out as the fifth best coverage unit per Pro Football Focus, while only six teams have allowed less production to enemy wideouts. Cousins’ passing attempts prop is set at 34.5, and unless he wildly exceeds that number there’s little chance he reaches 255 yards.
Pick: Kirk Cousins Under 254.5 Passing Yards (-115), 1 unit

Despite being banged up, Cook has the shortest odds of any player in the table above to score a TD in the Vikings vs Saints props at -105 odds. He’s followed by teammates Jefferson and Mattison at +110, while Kamara is the first New Orleans player listed at +130.
Pick #3: Kamara Finds the End Zone
Remember when Kamara scored six times versus Minnesota on Christmas Day two years ago? No one is expecting a repeat performance on Sunday, but the Vikings are as good a matchup as any for Kamara to score his first TD of the season.
Could Alvin Kamara explode this week with Andy Dalton in?
I think yes. His checkdowns are gonna be through the roof 📈

Minnesota has allowed the ninth most rushing yards in the league, while Dalton’s presence actually raises Kamara’s ceiling. Winston rarely targets his running backs, which explains why Kamara’s receptions are down this season. Dalton on the other hand, is captain check down.
Pick: Alvin Kamara anytime TD (+130), 1 unit
