It’s Denmark vs France on Matchday 6 of the UEFA Nations League A Group 1 on Sunday, September 25 in Copenhagen. Kick-off is at 2:45pm ET.
For Denmark, the aim is to secure a place in next summer’s finals, while France, after a disappointing campaign, is battling to stay in the top tier.
But, despite both teams focussing on different ends of the table, it is the French who come into this off the back of midweek success – a 2-0 victory over Austria – whereas the high-flying Danes lost 2-1 to Croatia.
We preview Denmark vs France, look at the odds and offer some analysis, team news, and picks for this huge Nations League clash.

Over/Under and Spread
Caesars have listed over 2.5 goals at a very reasonable +115, while on the flip side, under 2.5, is -145.
Given the make-or-break nature of this match for both teams, an end-to-end game with several goals is a distinct possibility.
Denmark vs France Preview
A win for Denmark in Zagreb on Thursday night would have been enough for them to secure top spot in the group, but their 2-1 defeat means they still have work to do in order to qualify for next summer’s finals.

Kasper Hjulmand’s men failed to deliver when the pressure was on and even Christian Eriksen’s equalizer, after Borna Sosa had given the Croatians the lead, failed to ignite the Danes, who saw a point slip away when Lovro Majer struck the winner for the home side. It was a win that took the Croatians to the top of the group.
The Danes Aiming for Top Spot
There is, however, just a single point separating the top two, and a win here for Denmark over Les Bleus still leaves them with a chance of finishing top if Austria can avoid defeat at home to Croatia. A draw for the Danes won’t be enough though as Croatia lead them in head-to-head points.

Even if the results don’t fall the way of Denmark, this campaign will still be seen as a step forward for them, and there is also the small matter of them re-engaging with the French again in two months’ time in Qatar. A good result here, even if it doesn’t take them to the Nations League finals, will be a massive confidence booster.

Vital Win Over Austria for France
Off-the-field issues have made this a difficult campaign for the French and rather than defending their Nations League title, they find themselves battling to stay in League A.
Prior to the international break, Didier Deschamps’ squad had already been badly affected by injuries to key players but despite more niggling injuries being picked up in Thursday’s game with Austria, they emerged with a vital 2-0 win – goals from Kylian Mbappe and Olivier Giroud.

A Win in Copenhagen the Only Option
The win in Paris saw France leapfrog the Austrians in the table and lift themselves off the bottom, but more work is needed if they are to retain their League A status. Even a draw in Copenhagen won’t be enough if Austria beat Croatia, so Les Bleus will be going all-out for the win.
While the reverse fixture in Paris ended in a surprise 2-1 win for the Danes, the French will take heart from a brilliant run of away form, where they haven’t been beaten since June 2019.
