The two hottest teams in the NFL both reside in the AFC East. And they both meet in Week 3.
The Buffalo Bills are fresh off of a thrashing of the Titans in Week 3, following up their Week 1 win over the Rams. Miami, meanwhile, stunned the Ravens in Week 2. Entering the fourth quarter trailing 35-7, the Dolphins exploded to outscore Baltimore 28-3.
Now the two get set to do battle with a 3-0 record and top spot in the AFC East on the line. Kick off is set for 1 pm ET from Hard Rock Stadium.

NFL Public Betting continues to back the Bills heavily. For the second week in a row, they better than 75% on both the money and total bets when it comes to moneyline and spread. And once again the over is seeing significant action too.
Josh Allen’s 2022 NFL MVP Case
Josh Allen and the Bills have put on a show two weeks into the NFL season.
Buffalo hung 24 points on the Titans in the third quarter on Monday, coming out of halftime with a 17-7 lead. They pulled away in the second half against the Rams as well, outscoring the champs 21-0.
Through it all, the NFL MVP odds favorite has been humming along, peppering Stefon Diggs with targets the whole way.
Josh Allen vs Tua Tagovailoa
75.4% (3rd) | Completion % | 71.1% (7th) |
614 (4th) | Yards | 739 (1st) |
8.9 (T-4th) | Yards-per-Attempt | 8.9 (T-4th) |
7 (T-1st) | Touchdowns | 7 (T-1st) |
2 (T-8th) |
Interceptions | 2 (T-8th) |
123.7 (2nd) | Rating | 116.5 (5th) |
There wasn’t really anything special about Week 1 against New England for Tua. He followed that one touchdown effort up with six against the Ravens though, and 469 yards through the air to top it off.
Known for his accuracy, Tagovailoa is completing passes at the best rate of his career right now. In two seasons, his QB rating has never been better than 91. He’s 25 points better than that right now. His seven TDs make it nearly a certainty that he’ll top the career-best 16 he threw last year.
This is a game for Von Miller and Bills elite 4-man pass rush Sunday. If they get Tua uncomfortable and out-of-rhythm, Von and Bills can take over.

What may be more impressive is that Miami is doing it without a running game. They’ve run for the fifth-fewest yards, with the eighth-lowest YPC to this point in the season.
That may be a good thing considering the Bills are first and third in rushing yards allowed and YPC.
Bills vs Dolphins Injury Report
While all eyes are typically on the Bills offense, there should be plenty of attention paid to their defense on Sunday.
Micah Hyde has already been declared out for Sunday. So is starting cornerback Dane Jackson, while Jordan Poyer closed the week with a questionable designation.
Week 3 Injury Report
Bills | Injury, Status | Dolphins | Injury, Status |
---|---|---|---|
Micah Hyde, S | Neck, OUT | Hunter Long, TE | Ankle, OUT |
Dane Jackson, CB | Neck, OUT | Cethan Carter, TE | Concussion, OUT |
Ed Oliver, DT | Ankle, OUT | Raekwon Davis, DL | Knee, Questionable |
Jordan Phillips, DT | Hamstring, OUT | Terron Armstead, OT | Toe, Questionable |
Gabe Davis, WR | Ankle, Questionable | Cedrick Wilson Jr, WR | Ribs/Toe, Questionable |
Dawson Knox, TE | Foot, Questionable | Xavien Howard, CB | Groin, Questionable |
Tim Settle, DT | Calf, Questionable | N/A | N/A |
Mitch Morse, OL | Elbow, Questionable | N/A | N/A |
Jordan Poyer, S | Foot, Questionable | N/A | N/A |
Howard earned a DNP designation on Wednesday before practicing on Thursday and Friday. Terron Armstead failed to practice all week, but head coach Mike McDaniel refused to rule him out for Sunday.
Bills vs Dolphins Pick
The Bills are riding a seven-game win streak against the Dolphins, which is kind of ridiculous when you consider how unpredictable division games can be.
So are the Dolphins due?
Probably not. There’s a reason the Bills sit atop the Super Bowl odds. But the injuries to Buffalo’s secondary do present an interesting opportunity for the Dolphins to put up points.
The Miami Dolphins are 1-7 against the Bills over their last 8 games against them.
The team has only worn their throwback jerseys ONCE over those 8 games. Can you guess which game it was?
That’s right. Josh Allen has NEVER beaten the Miami Dolphins throwback jersey. pic.twitter.com/ooN8Qjjl9n

The Bills will get theirs consider how well Allen and Diggs are playing, but stopping Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle may prove tricky.
Before the last two games failed to cross the 50 point mark, these two had combined to go over 55 in four of five. That’s why you should back the points on Sunday.
The Pick: Over 52.5 (-110); 1 unit
