Both players have the chance to win here, but Alcaraz is the favorite heading into the match. His US Open odds have been at the top to win since the beginning.
Rudd Defeats Karen Khachanov
Ruud may have not have a five-set battle to earn his spot in the final, but it was still an exciting match to watch. The first set was forced to a tie break, but after Ruud captured that, it was a relatively straightforward match from then on out.
Ruud went onto win 7(7)-6(5), 6-2, 5-7, 6-2.

Serving was a big part of this match on both sides, as the two players not only were serving well, but they were defending theirs as well.
Much like his final opponent, Ruud will be looking to capture his maiden Grand Slam title, in his second Grand Slam final appearance on Sunday.
Alcaraz Defeats Frances Tiafoe
The 19-year old is coming off an intense five-set battle against American Frances Tiafoe. The teenager went on to win 6(6)-7(8)- 6-3, 6-3, 7(7)-6(5), 6-3.
Despite Tiafoe’s 15 aces, it was Alcaraz who was more consistent on serve, and it has been a huge asset for him. He landed 71 percent of his first serves, following up with a 75 win percentage when landing those first serves.
Tiafoe had a strong opening set, where neither player wan able to break serve. The American really had the crowd on his side, and it looked like Alcaraz might have a tough task in front of him.
The Spaniard looked to be in good shape after the third set, having gone up 2-1, but again, Tiafoe wasn’t going anywhere, and ultimately forced a fifth set. By the fifth set, it looked like Tiafoe may have been out of gas, and Alcaraz was able to finish strong.

He’ll be looking for his maiden Grand Slam title as he takes on Ruud.
Alcaraz Leads Head-to-Head
This will be the second final of 2022 that Rudd and Alcaraz find themselves going to head-to-head. They played each other in Miami earlier this year, where Alcaraz won in straight sets. Their first meeting came in 2021, where Alcaraz also won in straight sets.
