The first four matches of the round of 16 are expected to be played Sunday, beginning at 11am ET. The last match of the day is set to begin at 7pm ET. Two of the matches will be played at Louis Armstrong Stadium, with the other two at Arthur Ashe Stadium.
Tournament favorite, Daniil Medvedev looks like he might be tested for the first time in the tournament, when he takes on Australian Nick Kyrgios. The 26-year old’s US Open odds have just continued to shorten as the week has gone on.

Alejandro Davidovich Fokina vs [13] Matteo Berrettini Prediction
The second career meeting between Davidovich Fokina and Berrettini will take place at 11am ET on Sunday at Louis Armstrong Stadium. The two faced each other just last year in Monte Carlo where Davidovich Fokina won in straight sets.
Berrettini is the favorite heading into the match at -270, and with a 21-9 record on the year, that shouldn’t be a surprise. The World No. 14 has had a decent year, and he’s entering the match off a four-set win against Andy Murray. Davidovich Fokina himself also had a four-set win in the third round to earn a spot in the round of 16.

Berrettini will look to utilize his serve as much as he can. It’s one of his biggest assets, having already record 45 aces in just three matches this week. Davidovich Fokina will have to do anything and everything he can to minimize that number in this match.
At this point in the tournament, it doesn’t seem like it will be a straight set win, but look for Berrettini to secure it in four sets.
Best Bet: Matteo Berrettini 3-1 (+320) or four sets in the match (+160)
[12] Pablo Carreno Busta vs [27] Karen Khachanov Prediction
Carreno Busta and Khachanov might be the most familiar with one another in comparison to the other matches happening. This will be the ninth meeting of their career. The two are set to play at 2:15pm ET. The last time they met was just earlier this year where Khachanov won in three sets. Khachanov holds a 5-3 head-to-head record against Carreno Busta, and has won the last three meetings.
The Spaniard enters the match after defeating Alex de Minaur in four, while Khachanov’s match ended early when his opponent retired in the third set.

Carreno Busta is the favorite heading into this match given his history at the Slam. He made the semi’s in both 2017 and 2020. But what makes this interesting is these two’s past against one another. Khachanov has managed to find ways to beat Carreno Busta time and time again, so will he be able to do so again? Seems like it could happen.
Best Bet: Karen Khachanov (+190)
[1] Daniil Medvedev vs [23] Nick Kyrgios Prediction
This will be the third meeting just this year between these two, but also the fifth meeting overall. And surprisingly enough, Kyrgios holds the edge with a 3-1 head-to-head record against Medvedev. Kyrgios did win the last meeting at the National Bank Open, but Medvedev did win when they say each other earlier at the Aussie Open this year,
Both players are playing very strong tennis so far at the Open. Medvedev has yet to drop a set, and Kyrgios has only dropped one.
This is sure to be an intense match that doesn’t lend itself one way or another. It’ll ultimately come down to whoever can minimize their unforced error count, and take advantage of when their opponent does. Regardless of the winner here, look for it to be a long match.
Best Bet: Five sets (+265)
