Toronto vs Baltimore Probable Pitchers
The Blue Jays have only managed a 14-11 record in games started by Gausman this season, 14 of which have been of quality vintage. Toronto has been especially sharp with the 31-year-old on the bump of late, winning five of his six August turns. That recent stretch includes three victories in a row.

Despite allowing two home runs, Gausman is coming off his latest quality outing last Tuesday. He went six innings and allowed five hits, two earned runs and a walk while striking out nine in a 5-3 victory over the Cubs.
Meantime somewhat mirroring his individual record, the Orioles have only managed a 14-13 record when Lyle’s number is called. The 31-year-old has 11 quality starts in the bunch, including five in a row between late June and mid-July. He accomplished a significant personal milestone in his most recent outing.

Following an unlikely home sweep at the hands of the second-division Angels, the Blue Jays have won five of their last six games. Three players (Cavan Biggion, Bo Bichette and Teoscar Hernandez) have hit over .300 over the last week, with Hernandez delivering the go-ahead RBI single in the seventh inning against the Pirates in a 4-3 win to finish a three-game sweep of Pittsburgh.
Biggio smashed his fifth long ball of the season – and second in five days – in the win.

Vladimir Guerrero (27) and Matt Chapman (24) lead the team in big flies in 2022.
Meantime, the Orioles have won six straight series — not including a one-off loss to the Cubs in the middle of the three-week run. The stretch of success started by taking two of three from Toronto in mid-August. Baltimore laid an egg on Sunday, losing 5-0 to Oakland. But Ryan Mountcastle hit two of the O’s five homers in an 8-1 Saturday win over the A’s while driving in four runs in what was the club’s fourth straight win.

Mountcastle, Gunnar Henderson and Ramon Urias are all hitting at least .300 heading into the pivotal four-game set against Baltimore’s AL East foe.
The Orioles have +15000 odds to win the Fall Classic, while the Blue Jays are at +1700 in the World Series odds.

Blue Jays vs Orioles Prediction
Both teams come in surging, but Gausman is the more reliable starter. Plus, with Jordan Romano dealing on the back-end, Toronto’s pitching staff from top to bottom has the advantage.
Baltimore has been a great story this season. But I like the Jays in this spot.
