Yet another iteration of ‘The Match’ is set to tee off Wednesday, June 1st at 6:30pm ET on TNT, and this time it has a little different feel to it. Previously, the five prior editions of the exhibition matches featured at least one professional golfer competing. This go around, it’s the veteran QB duo of Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers teaming up against the young quarterback tandem of Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen.
It’ll be a twelve-hole affair at the Wynn Golf Club in Las Vegas, with Brady and Rodgers no stranger to these battles. In the fourth edition, Rodgers and Bryson DeChambeau bested Brady and Phil Mickelson. The two times Brady has competed his team has lost, but that’s not deterring oddsmakers in thinking his squad will win this time.

Brady Has Lost First Two Matches
Underdogs have reigned supreme in three of the first five matches, fueled by perhaps the belief that they can’t get the job done. The two times the favorites were victorious came when Tom Brady was on the opposing team. On both occasions he wasn’t as sharp as his counterparts, leading to a pair of losses with Phil Mickelson as his teammate.
“That game was much easier than this crazy, stupid sport I’m playing right now.”

Though the seven-time Super Bowl champion has proven to be ridiculously amazing on the gridiron, it hasn’t exactly extended to the links, save for this outstanding shot.

There is decent value on the duo of Mahomes and Allen to make it a hat trick of losses to Brady at +148. They have some experience playing in these types of events also, with the Bills QB playing at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am this year and the Chiefs pivot teeing it up at the American Century Celebrity Championship.
The Match 2022 Picks
Brady has struggled out of the gate in the two previous matches he’s competed in. You know the underdog duo will come out guns ablazing in their attempt to get the upper hand. It’s conceivable that Brady finds himself trailing early yet again through three holes. As the most experienced ‘match’ player, talent and ability to recover from past failures should rule the day over the course of twelve holes, particularly with A-Rod at the helm.
Rodgers is generally considered the more precise player of the quartet, so his ability to hit a crisp iron shot on the par-3, 4th should give his squad the upper hand on that hole.
- Picks: Brady/Rodgers closest to hole on 4 (-114), Mahomes/Allen lead after 3 holes (+175), Brady/Rodgers To Win Match (-184)
