Two Eastern Conference playoff series could reach their conclusion on Monday, April 25th. Boston holds a 3-0 lead over the Brooklyn Nets ahead of their game at Barclays Center, but is priced as 1.5-point underdog even with Ben Simmons ruled out once again.
Philadelphia missed its opportunity for the sweep over Toronto a couple of days ago, yet they return to Pennsylvania as 7.5-point favorites over the Raptors. Joel Embiid’s thumb injury has been confirmed as torn ligaments – he’s going to play through it and have surgery in the offseason.
Dallas welcomed Luka Doncic back last time out, though it wasn’t enough to beat the Utah Jazz. While Utah put in an improved performance in Game 4, the Mavs are still favored for Monday’s encounter.

Odds as of Apr 25 at FanDuel Sportsbook
Jayson Tatum made a late-season surge in NBA MVP odds, and he’s continued that ascension in the postseason. Boston’s star forward has the highest points line on Monday night, clear of Donovan Mitchell and Kevin Durant.

Bruce Brown Puts Up Numbers Again
A Ben Simmons return was a threat to Bruce Brown’s minutes. With Simmons out for Monday’s game, Brown can continue in the role he has thrived in over the last two games. Dropping 49 points and 16 rebounds across 78 minutes, Brown has played a huge role on both ends of the floor.
Boston isn’t interested in guarding Brown on the perimeter. He’s been left open and knocked down five of his 11 threes over the last two. His rebounding is invaluable for Brooklyn, particularly when playing smaller line ups, and he’s got a real knack for sneaking in on the offensive glass, collecting six offensive rebounds across Games 2 and 3.

The former Piston led the Nets in field goal attempts in Game 3 with 19. He gets a few shots from rebounds, makes well-timed cuts and can attack as the roll man when bodies are sent at Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. The Celtics’ plan is working so far in this series, and they are happy for Brown to lead the team in shots.
There’s no reason for any major changes to how Boston defends Brown or how he approaches the game. Even if the three ball doesn’t fall as it has so far, he does enough other stuff to reach this points and rebounds over.
- Pick: Bruce Brown over 21.5 points and rebounds (-106)
Gobert’s Size Dominates Dallas
It was momentous to see Donovan Mitchell pass to Rudy Gobert for the winning bucket in Game 4. Mitchell’s refusal to pass to his co-star has been much publicized of late, but Utah did a better job of finding the Frenchman in Game 4, setting a template for how they can attack the smallball Mavericks in the rest of this series.

Gobert has scored 15 and 17 over the last two. He took 18 free throw attempts in Game 4, fouling Maxi Kleber out in the process. While he made just nine of those shots from the stripe, the Mavericks were clearly choosing to hack Gobert rather than allowing him easy finishes in the restricted area as a roll man.
Dallas will keep playing small, and rightly so. Utah’s counter is to fire the ball to Gobert often. He grabbed 10 offensive boards in Game 4, and that advantage on the glass has been and will be there all series.
With 14 or more points in eight of his last 10, and coming off two effective performances in Salt Lake City, Gobert is a good bet to hit this points over. He can score over Dwight Powell or Kleber, but he can be particularly effective when Jason Kidd puts Dorian Finney-Smith at the five.
- Pick: Rudy Gobert over 13.5 points (-104)
