Kansas vs North Carolina Odds, Spread, Picks for National Championship Game

Kansas is a four-point favorite over North Carolina in Monday night’s NCAA Tournament championship game in New Orleans.

Kansas (33-6, 20-19 ATS) ran its winning streak to 10 games on Saturday by beating Villanova 81-65 in the semifinals at the Caesars Superdome.

In the other semifinal, North Carolina (29-9, 21-16-1 ATS) edged Duke 81-77 for its 11^th win in its last 12 game. The Tar Heels not only beat their archrivals but ended the career of legendary Blue Devils coach Mike Krzyzewski.

In addition to being four-point picks, Kansas, which opened as -182 picks on the moneyline, have been bet down to -192 chalk. That gives the Jayhawks a 66.75% expected win probability in the odds to win the NCAA Tournament.

Kansas Betting Outlook

Senior forward David McCormack muscled his way to 25 points on 10-of-12 shooting to lead Kansas on Saturday. He was one rebound shy of a double-double.

Kansas scored the game’s first 10 points and never trailed. Villanova got within six points, 64-58, with six minutes left but the Jayhawks pulled away down the stretch.

Senior guard Ochai Agbaji, a top-five favorite in the Wooden Award odds, knocked down 6 of 7 shots from three-point range on his way to 21 points. Kansas shot 52.4% (13 of 24) from distance and 53.7% (29 of 54) overall.

Sophomore forward Jalen Wilson had a fine all-round game with 11 points, 13 rebounds and five assists. Junior guard Christian Braun chipped in with 10 points and five assists.

Kansas held Villanova to 22 of 57 (38.6%) from the field and outrebounded the Wildcats 37-28.

Kansas reached the Final Four by beating Texas Southern 83-56, Creighton 79-72, Providence 66-61 and Miami 76-50. The Jayhawks are 3-2 against the spread in the tourney, including covering as four-point favorites.

North Carolina Betting Outlook

Caleb Love scored 24 of his game-high 28 points in the second half to lead North Carolina on Saturday night. Love was 3 of 10 on three-point field goal attempts but was 8 of 10 on two-pointers.

RJ Davis had a big performance for the Tar Heels with 18 points, seven rebounds and four assists.

Brady Manek had 14 points and three blocked shots. Armando Bacot finished with 11 points and 21 rebounds, helping North Carolina hold a 51-43 edge on the boards.

Bacot rolled an ankle in the second half but returned to finish the game.

Duke turned it over just four times but North Carolina held the Blue Devils to 5 of 22 (22.7%) from beyond the arc.

North Carolina got to the Final Four by defeating Marquette 95-63, defending champion Baylor 93-86 in overtime, UCLA 73-66 and Saint Peter’s 69-49. Four-point underdogs against Duke, the Tar Heels 5-0 ATS in the tournament.

Movement on the Line?

The four-point spread seems a tad low after how Kansas handled Villanova. Look for bettors to back the Jayhawks and nudge the line up a bit.
