And then there were eight.

LeBron James may be on his way to another NBA Finals, but he won’t be playing in the championship of our Sports Fool of the Year bracket after getting ousted in the Excrete 16. He’s probably envious of Mrs. Rogers’ demise in my allusion of choice; overdosing on sleeping pills sounds a lot more pleasant than being dumbed to death by Skip Bayless. The victims only get tougher for Bayless now, going up against no. 1 seed Curt Schilling in the next round. He could really use a well-timed Tweet about Tim Tebow being a future MLB home run champ.

The other semifinal in the East Region comes courtesy of that frat house you desperately want off your block, with Johnny Manziel (no. 10 seed) meeting disgraced erstwhile Fox host Emily Austen (no. 3 seed). The world might think you obtuse, Johnny and Emily. But don’t get down on yourselves. Just remember how cool you were in high school. #GloryDays

The West region has Roger Goodell going up against Skip’s partner-in-inanity, Stephen A. Smith, in the first semi. But it’s really a one-horse race out there. LaVar Ball has cruised through the first two rounds, and will likely make short work of Mark Emmert in the second semi. While NCAA president Emmert has some truly backwards views on what’s fair in terms of compensation, he never said he could beat Michael Jordan one-on-one. We probably should have just crowned LaVar right there and then.

Below is the full bracket and all the third-round matchups for the Dull-ete 8, complete with handy li’l voting widgets. (Full disclosure: I don’t know what a “widget” is.) Voting will run until Sunday, May 6, 2017.

Don’t forget to add your two cents in the old comment section or on Facebook!
