WNBA Odds and Predictions September 10th – Fever vs Lynx, Dream vs Mystics

Just over a week away from the final regular season game of the 2021 WNBA season being played on Sept. 19, there are still a few games left remaining for the 12 teams in the league.
On Friday, Sept. 10th, there will be a pair of games featuring two teams still fighting for positioning in the postseason going up against the bottom two teams in the WNBA standings.
To kick off the night in the league, the Atlanta Dream will visit the Washington Mystics at 7 p.m. ET on NBA TV, followed by the Indiana Fever taking on the Minnesota Lynx at 8 p.m. ET on Twitter.

Both the Mystics and Lynx are home favorites as they look to improve their playoff seeds.
Mystics Aim to Get in to Playoffs
With around five games remaining in the regular season, Washington are trying to make a late push into the postseason and will have another chance in its pursuit of accomplishing that while hosting Atlanta on Friday in the nation’s capital.
The Mystics come into the game at 10-18 overall, having lost three straight and eight of their last 10 games. Washington is right on the cusp of the final spot in the playoffs, trailing the New York Liberty (11-18) by a half-game for the eighth seed.
Leading the way for Washington this season has been Tina Charles who has tallied marks of 23.9 points, 9.3 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game. Ariel Atkins has averaged 15.7 points and 1.6 steals and Myisha Hines-Allen, who is questionable for the game with an illness, has averaged 13.8 points, 7.3 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game.

On the other side of the court, the Dream enter this contest near the bottom of the league standings at 7-21 overall, sitting just a half-game ahead of Indiana for last place in the WNBA. Atlanta just snapped an 11-game losing streak, but is still struggling as of late to climb out of the bottom of the league.
The Dream have been paced this year by Courtney Williams, who is averaging 16.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Tiffany Hayes has also played well for Atlanta, averaging 13.9 points, 3.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals a contest.
Lynx, Fever Face Off in First of Three Games
In the final game of the night, Minnesota will try and rebound from a rough loss to Las Vegas on Wednesday by hosting Indiana in the first of three straight games between the two teams.
The Lynx enter the game with a record of 18-10 overall and in the heart of a heated race near the top of the league standings. Minnesota trails the Phoenix Mercury in fourth place by a half-game and are just one game back of the Seattle Storm in the third seed.
Leading the charge for the Lynx this year has been the duo of Sylvia Fowles and Napheesa Collier, with Fowles averaging 16.1 points, 10.1 rebounds, 1.8 blocks, 1.7 steals and 1.4 assists in a Defensive Player of the Year caliber season, and Collier averaging 16.3 points, 6.6 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.3 blocks and 1.2 steals per game.
For Indiana, it has been playing better as of late but still remains at the bottom of the WNBA standings at 6-21 overall. The Fever, losers of two straight, are 5-5 in their last 10 games.
Indiana’s leading producer this year has been Kelsey Mitchell, who is averaging 16.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists a game. Tiffany Mitchell has followed that with 11.9 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists, and Teaira McCowan has tallied 11.1 points, 9.5 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per contest.

Predictions and Best Bet
Although both Atlanta and Indiana won’t be reaching the playoffs by the end of the regular season, Thursday’s doubleheader still features some intriguing playoff implications for both Minnesota and Washington that will be worth keeping an eye on. And both the Dream and Fever could act as spoilers as the Lynx and Mystics try and improve their playoff hopes.
When it comes to predicting who will come out on top in the duo of games, Washington and Minnesota should both pull out victories at home by the end of the night. For the best bet of the evening, go with the Lynx and them covering the 10.5-point spread against the Fever. Minnesota is not only a better team and should win this easily at home, but it is also coming off of a brutal performance on Wednesday and will likely try and make a statement.
