The UFC is still at the Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, for UFC Vegas 36 on September 4th, 2021. The event was supposed to take place at the O2 in London, England – which is why so many English and European fighters are on the card – but COVID forced it to Vegas. The co-main event sees heavyweight prospect Tom Aspinall battle Sergey Spivak.
UFC Vegas 36 airs live on ESPN+ with the main card at 4 PM EST. The table below shows odds for the main card at DraftKings followed by best bets. Make sure to check out the latest sportsbook promos before placing your bets for UFC Vegas 36.

Will Till Emerge Victorious in His Return?
Darren Till is a fan-favorite, and UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya had made it clear he wants to fight Till, but all he needs to do is win, so if he wins on Saturday against Derek Brunson, he could very well earn a title shot.
Brunson & Till Recent Fights
Kevin Holland, win by decision | Fight 1 | Robert Whittaker, loss by decision |
Edmen Shahbazyan, win by TKO | Fight 2 | Kelvin Gastelum, win by decision |
Ian Heinisch, win by decision | Fight 3 | Jorge Masvidal, loss by KO |
Elias Theodorou, win by decision | Fight 4 | Tyron Woodley, loss by submission (title fight) |
Brunson is a great wrestler who has all the skills to be able to take Till down and control the fight. However, his chin is always a concern as he does get hit a lot and does get rocked. Even though he dominated Holland in his last fight when Holland landed one good punch it staggered Brunson.
Till, meanwhile, is a great counter striker and has underrated takedown defense where if he can keep it standing it should be his fight to lose. However, the layoff is a concern as he hasn’t fought since July of last year.
Brunson & Till Stats
37 | Age | 28 |
6’1″ | Height | 6’0″ |
77″ | Reach | 75″ |
8 | UFC Finishes | 2 |
This is a great fight, and it will be a good test for both men. If Brunson can get past Till he would likely be in a number one contender bout and has proven to be a tough out for anyone. However, if the Englishman wins, it’s hard to deny him the shot against Adesanya as it would be a big fight, so the stakes are high for this one.
Early on, I expect the fight to be a slow pace as Brunson will be cautious to run in and shoot for a takedown, while Till is always a low output counter striker. I do think Brunson will be able to get him down, but Till should be able to get back up. In the event that happens, he will eventually land the big left hand that stuns Brunson, and he’ll finish him off via TKO in the second or third round. Once the line becomes available, Till to win by KO/TKO should pose great value in the UFC Vegas 36 odds.
Pick: Darren Till (-180)
Will Aspinall Continue His Rise?
Tom Aspinall is one of the best heavyweight prospects, and he now returns against short-notice replacement, Sergey Spivak.
Aspinall & Spivak Recent Fights
Andrei Arlovski, win by submission | Fight 1 | Alexey Oleynik, win by decision |
Alan Baudot, win by TKO | Fight 2 | Jared Vanderaa, win by TKO |
Jake Collier, win by KO | Fight 3 | Carlos Felipe, win by decision |
Mickael Ben Hamouda, win by TKO | Fight 4 | Marcin Tybura, loss by decision |
Aspinall will get a very tough test on short notice as Spivak will be able to test his takedown defense and how good of a grappler he is. Spivak has a style where he can get his opponent down and grind out a decision, or just clinch them against the fence.
However, I do believe in Aspinall’s well-rounded skill set that he will be able to keep the fight standing and piece up Spivak and eventually get the TKO win in the second round.
Pick: Tom Aspinall (-290)
Other UFC Vegas 36 Picks:
- Alex Morono (-165): Even though Morono is taking this fight on short notice, I do think he will keep it standing and outstrike Zawada to win a decision.
- Modestas Bukauskas (-155): Bukauskas does get hit a lot, but Rountree doesn’t throw enough volume where Bukauskas will be able to piece him up for three rounds and win a decision.
- Paddy Pimblett (-135): Pimblett will finally make his UFC debut, and he should be able to get Vendramini down and control him on the ground and potentially get a submission.
