Jake Paul has taken the combat sports world by storm as the former Disney actor-turned-YouTuber-turned-boxer is 3-0 as a pro and coming off a first-round KO over former UFC fighter, Ben Askren. He defeated Tyron Woodley by split decision in a fight neither man threw much volume. Woodley did stun Paul in the fight, but Paul came back and controlled the fight.
With Paul getting his hand raised, he has options for his next fight. But, regardless of who is next, there is no question we will be seeing Paul box again.
Odds on Jake Paul’s Next Opponent
Fighter | Odds |
---|---|
Tyron Woodley | +150 |
Tommy Fury | +200 |
KSI | +400 |
Nate Diaz | +600 |
Conor McGregor | +2000 |
Odds as of August 29th.
When Will Paul Face A Real Boxer?
The biggest knock on Jake Paul so far throughout his boxing career is he has yet to face a real boxer. He has boxed a fellow YouTuber, Nate Robinson, Ben Askren, and now Tyron Woodley. Robinson was a retired NBA star, while Askren was a wrestler who rarely threw punches in MMA , and Woodley was also a wrestler who has been dominated in his last four fights in the UFC.

Although many have been critical of Paul’s opponents, most boxers don’t face anyone good until they are around 15-0. Paul has actually fought better fighters than if you look at Canelo Alvarez, Floyd Mayweather, and Errol Spence Jr.’s, first four opponents. There’s a time and place for Paul to box a legit boxer but him facing former UFC fighters is proving to sell and it’s something that could work for a few more bouts.
Is Paul A ‘Real’ Boxer?
Jake Paul is a real boxer and I think he has shown that in all of his pro fights.
Despite many thinking this is a gimmick, Paul is taking boxing very seriously. He moved to Puerto Rico and is no longer having massive parties in LA with his celebrity friends. Instead, the focus is on boxing and improving. He also has all the money in the world which has allowed him to hire all the best coaches and training partners. I’ve actually been told by two people in Paul’s camp that he has beaten undefeated world champions in sparring and there is video footage of it. Regardless, Paul is a real boxer and he has shown that throughout his career.
Is Tommy Fury Next?
Tommy Fury absolutely should be Jake Paul’s next fight as there is a reason why Fury fought Paul’s training partner on the undercard. He also signed a two-fight deal with Showtime with many believing the second fight would be the bout with Paul which would be massive.

Fury also has a big following thanks to being the half-brother of Tyson Fury and being on the reality TV show, Love Island. He’s also been boxing for years so this would be a step-up in competition for him and would be another big PPV success. It’s a fight that could also happen in the UK where Fury is a massive star and Paul gets to go into enemy territory and be the villain he is.
Pick: Tommy Fury (+200)
