Carlos Takam has been fighting as a pro for over fifteen years and has over forty pro bouts to his credit. While he is a 40-year-old competitor, Takam is also a former world title contender and someone who has won several fights consecutively.
Carlos Takam is riding a four-fight win streak heading into the weekend. His last bout saw him garner a unanimous decision win over Jerry Forrest last July.
Joyce has put out accusations of Takam ducking him in a past Las Vegas sparring session. The war of words ramps up closer and closer to fight day for these two bruisers.
Carlos Takam sees himself as being in a position to shock Joe Joyce and halt the momentum Joyce has been accruing.

Ultimately, I do not think that this twelve-round contest will encroach into the ringing of the final bell.
I think there’s good value in going with a prop bet on this heavyweight affair, not going the distance (-330). Also, I believe there is good value in going with props on Joyce winning via KO or TKO (-240), but I’m a tad uncertain with the over/under.
This is reflected in the relative parity of the line set by oddsmakers (-105) for over eight and a half rounds and (-115) for under eight and a half rounds).
That being said, I think Joe Joyce secures the finish somewhere between the seventh and ninth rounds (+240). This is informed by the confluence of Joyce’s finishing ability and the durability that Takam has previously shown as he has only been halted in those later rounds.
