Last week, Kyle Larson won the Ally 400 and remains the favorite (+225) with the Pocono Organics CBD 325 odds. Kyle Busch (+800) could be as much of a favorite given how he has finished on courses like this. His odds to finish in the top three are listed at +215. Also, watch for drivers like Denny Hamlin and especially Kevin Harvick, who finished fifth last week.

Kyle Larson Favored to Win Even at Pocono

NASCAR drivers run on the 2.5-mile-long “tricky triangle” track when the flag drops for the Saturday afternoon race beginning around 3:00 PM EST. All tracks have been extremely good to Larson lately, who has won the last four races (All-Star race at Texas included.  Larson even won the Ally 400 as the Hendrick Motorsports driver won by more than four seconds over the rest of the field.

The No. 5 car just cannot be caught. Even when he stumbles a bit early, Larson just roars back and wins a race with an ease that few drivers have been able to do.

He has the ability to adapt to all tracks with ease. It is scary to think just how young the driver is. Larson may just be favored in races all the way to Phoenix at this point. That is the level of dominance that the driver has now set.

This week favors Larson again, and honestly, it may be the weekend that the No.5 takes the points lead. Think about how fast he has caught Hamlin. Over the last seven races, four wins and three runner-ups are on the level of a Jeff Gordon.

Should Kyle Busch Be a Favorite?

Sports bettors have some history to draw on here as the younger Busch has seen his NASCAR Cup Series odds shorten. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver has led the second-most laps at Pocono since 2018 and has won twice in those six races. Busch has the third-best average finish of 9.5 as well. Throw out the one DNF, and he even tops Kevin Harvick.

It takes one to know one as they say. Kyle Busch has been one of those drivers who went on a run of dominance similar to what Kyle Larson is experiencing now. Busch can run with Larson at times, so it will be intriguing to see what happens on the “tricky triangle”. It will be fun to see what happens.

Who Can Keep Up With Kyle Larson on Saturday?

The build for this weekend’s race leads to some interesting dynamics.

• Traction compound may create two lanes to race in parts of the triangle.
• The 14-8-6 banking will slow cars a little bit along with some restrictor plate-like tendencies.
• Longer runs may equalize a bit and not favor Hendrick quite as much as in previous weeks.
• Busch and Hamlin and Truex Jr. will have to work together better.

Last week, Hendrick Motorsports, particularly with Kyle Larson and William Byron did them great favors when it came to pit help. Chase Elliott is a different story (disqualified due to five loose lug nuts).

Even William Byron and Alex Bowman have to be considered some. Byron has several top-ten finishes here at Pocono. That would be four, and he has never finished below 20th. As for Chase Elliott, he has four top-tens in six races with two top-fives. He has contended in two of the previous three races at Pocono.

The question this Saturday will be is this the weekend Joe Gibbs Racing figures it out? Maybe, it happens next week though they will be very close.
