Call of Duty League (CDL) Atlanta FaZe home series Week 2 of the group stages is about to get underway. After an exciting first week of CDL, we saw the Minnesota ROKKR upset the Dallas Empire in a stunning five map series. Not to mention, Seattle Surge coming up big by not only covering the +1.5 on our top play from Week 1 Action, but also winning outright.
We look ahead to Week 2 where the Florida Mutineers will be aiming for a redemption victory against the LA Guerrillas after their embarrassing loss to the Toronto Ultra. The New York Subliners are smelling blood in the water with the London Royal Ravens on deck. The perfect opponent to get them in the win column after an 0-3 loss to the LA Thieves.
We are currently heading into Week 2 action with two CDL card sweeps in a row. Read below to see the current Call of Duty League odds for each head to head matchup, and find out what two matches I consider my best plays of the week.

The Empire Strikes Back
The Dallas Empire ended their Week 1 with a devastating loss to the Minnesota ROKKR in a thrilling series that went all five maps. While Dallas Empire looked dominant on Hardpoint, they managed to lose both Search and Destroy (SND) maps in the series.
Losing both searches is not acceptable if you consider the Dallas Empire the best in the world. This would worry me heading into Week 2 if not for the fact they are playing the London Royal Ravens (LRR). London Royal Ravens have shown so far that they are the most incompetent SND team in the entire league.

Crimsix was devastated with how poorly the team overall played but the Minnesota ROKKR have strong enough sub players to battle with Huke and Shotzzy. The fragging power coming out of LRR against the Surge was just not there.
The communications during the respawn maps for the Royal Ravens against the Seattle Surge were unorganized and frantic. I do not believe it is an issue that could be fixed in four days. Not to mention with all five LRR players in North Carolina, they will lose the host advantage against Dallas. Making the chance of them winning a map an even bigger uphill battle.
Pick: Dallas Empire -2.5 (+125)
Toronto Look to Cement Their Spot in Top Four
The Toronto Ultra put on a clinical performance against the Florida Mutineers this past weekend. CleanX completely dismantled Florida on garrison hardpoint, and willed his team the momentum to take a dominant 3-1 victory. What impressed me the most was the composure Toronto showed throughout the series.
Even on the Garris Control map they lost, it came down to Slacked having a monster individual performance to get Florida the win. Toronto Ultra with all four players in the same facility without any connection issues is going to be a problem this season for a lot of teams.

One major issue is they sit directly next to the Chicago Server location the CDL uses. When coming down to the veto for servers, Utah and Chicago locations are going to greatly favor the Ultra. They played the triangle of death in Florida and dusted them off with ease. This may bring trouble on the horizon for OpTic Chicago.
With OpTic being a respawn dominant team, they are going to be playing at least one of the hardpoints with Toronto pulling the server. With Toronto showing they are at least somewhat competent on SND and OpTic being the first team to get bageled. The Ultra in my opinion have upset potential, and the odds are not giving them enough respect.
Pick: Toronto Ultra ML (+225)
