History will be made when Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs square off with Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Super Bowl 55 on Sunday, Feb. 7th at Tampa Bay’s Raymond James Stadium.
It will be the first time in the history of the big game that the reigning Super Bowl MVP and the player who’s won the most Super Bowl MVP awards will be both playing in the game.
Mahomes was named Super Bowl MVP last season as the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31-20. Brady, who will be playing in his record 10th Super Bowl, has earned the MVP award in the game a record four times.
Favored since odds opened, Mahomes is +110 to win the honor during this year’s game. Brady is the second betting choice at +250.

Three Times Two?
Mahomes would be only the third player to be Super Bowl MVP in successive games.
Both of the the back-to-back winners were QBs – Green Bay’s Bart Starr (Super Bowls 1-2) and Pittsburgh’s Terry Bradshaw (Super Bowls 13-14).

In Sunday’s 38-24 AFC Championship Game win over the Buffalo Bills, Mahomes completed 29 of 38 passes for 325 yards and three touchdowns. If he does that on Super Bowl Sunday, he’ll walk off with another MVP.
The Chiefs suit up two other intriguing MVP possibilities. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill scored an AFC-leading 15 TDs. Travis Kelce set a new mark for reception yards for a tight end (1,416) this season. He caught 13 balls for 118 yards and two TDS against Buffalo.

In Sunday’s NFC Championship Game at Green Bay, Brady passed for 280 yards and three TDs. He joined Eli Manning as the only visiting QBs to win an NFC title game at Lambeau Field.
No QB had ever led his team to the Super Bowl in their own stadium until now.
If Tampa Bay wins the Super Bowl, Brady will be MVP. Beat the drum for someone other than Tom at your own peril.
