The BLAST Premier: Fall 2020 Finals get underway on December 8th with the first place team winning $225,000 USD. Team Vitality enter as the slight favorites but Astralis and Natus Vincere lurk closely behind.

Deserving Favorites
It’s quite simple. Vitality is currently the #1 ranked CS:GO team in the world according to HLTV. Of course, that ranking can be debated, but Vitality has earned that spot thanks to their recent tournament showings. You don’t earn the title of ‘best team in the world’ without some recent wins under your belt. During the regular season of BLAST Premier Fall, Vitality won their group thanks to back-to-back match wins over BIG. Not only is that a huge boon for Vitality, but it’s also a sign that BIG should be avoided here.
More impressively, Vitality finished first at IEM Beijing Online. Although they had an early loss to Faze Clan, Vitality took down Heroic and Complexity to book their spot in the finals. Now, Vitality would beat Natus Vincere 3-2, but it was NAVI who actually had a 2-0 lead in the series. This was an extremely close match so even though Vitality earned top prize, they’re by no means invincible.
Astralis and NAVI
No matter what tournament it is, if NAVI and Astralis are involved, they’ll be in contention to win it all. HLTV currently has them as the third and fourth best teams in the World, so yes, this tournament is stacked. Astralis has the second best odds to win at +300, which is somewhat surprising based on some recent losses. The most important result to speak of is their quarterfinal match against Natus Vincere at IEM Beijing Online. It was a 2-0 for NAVI and they seemed to have control throughout. If a recent loss to a tournament contender isn’t already cause for concern, they also fell 2-0 to GODSENT at DreamHack Masters Winter.

Astralis is still in the middle of that very same DreamHack tournament so it’s worth monitoring how they do there as the event gets into the deeper stages. If they end up losing to FURIA, mousesports, or GODSENT, then the alarm bells are ringing louder than ever. Either way, at +300 I’d stay away from Astralis here.
Considering they’re fresh off a win over Astralis and have odds of +400, NAVI is a much more appealing bet in my eyes. The long standing problem with NAVI is their consistency. You never truly know which version of NAVI will show up on a given day. They have that notable win over Astralis but they also have a red flag in their two losses to OG in the group stage of the BLAST Premier Regular Season. Betting on NAVI is always a gamble but there’s simply more value on them than the likes of Astralis or Vitality.
The Longshot
Realistically, one of the three aforementioned teams will more than likely win the BLAST Premier Fall Finals. If you’re looking for a potential dark horse, the only team that could pull off an epic upset is OG. They have consecutive wins over NAVI to their name, and the bracket could end up in their favor.
Their first match is against BIG who they just beat 2-0 at Flashpoint Season 2. After that they’d draw either G2 or FURIA in the second round. Their path to the upper bracket final avoids the big three. All they’d need is one upset win to make the grand finals and they’ve proven they can defeat NAVI. It is a longshot at +1200, but there is a world where it can happen.
Pick: Natus Vincere (+400)
