Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder are among the biggest names in modern boxing, and there’s a lot of curiosity as to what lies ahead for both.

The two men are coming off of a rematch with one another in February, where Fury emerged the victor after emphatically stopping the long-reigning WBC titlist.

There was supposed to be a trilogy earlier this year but, the pandemic derailed those plans, and now the future is somewhat uncertain. Several names abound for both men including, Iron Mike Tyson, who has shown an interest in fighting both for charity.

I don’t foresee Iron Mike being next for either (+4000 for both Fury and Wilder). So who are the likeliest options at play?

Who Vies for the Gypsy King’s Crown?

Agit Kabayel is favored as high as he is (+325) because Kabayel was initially slated to fight Fury on December 5th prior to negotiations faltering. That reads to me as a stay busy fight and I can see Fury’s camp isolating their focus to either Joshua or Wilder (who is the heaviest favorite at +120 to fight Fury next).

Earlier this week marked the two-year anniversary of their monumental first bout when Fury vs Wilder went to a draw. This WBC heavyweight title fight produced some of the most memorable moments the sport has seen in years.

I had mentioned their second fight was in February, so there would be a cinematic quality to booking the trilogy for February 2021.

It was the fight that had everyone saying "how did he get up from that 🤯?!" On December 1, 2018, Tyson Fury rose like the undertaker after @BronzeBomber delivered the punch seen around the world.

Anthony Joshua is the second heaviest favorite for Fury’s next opponent (+175) and is someone that Fury’s camp has in their crosshairs.

There are a few variables at play though as, Joshua will be fighting Kubrat Pulev on December 12th. If Joshua loses to Pulev then the Fury versus Wilder trilogy is likeliest. But if Joshua wins, I theorize Fury will go in the direction of AJ.

To that point, I might advise waiting until at least December 13th to place a bet on Fury’s next opponent. Ultimately though, I think Anthony Joshua beats Pulev and wins the Tyson Fury sweepstakes.

Odds on Who Deontay Wilder Will Fight Next

Bronze Bomber Rebounding From First Loss

Deontay Wilder is of the belief that he is legally owed a rematch with Fury and has been talking about an arbitration hearing to settle things. People who are privy to the contractual language say this idea of Deontay Wilder being legally entitled to a third Tyson Fury fight is not exactly the case, however.

Wilder has recently taken to social media to map out an in-ring return for the first quarter of 2021.

I would eliminate Luis Ortiz (+1600) from contention here as he has fought Wilder twice in outings that saw the Bronze Bomber halt Ortiz inside the distance. Whyte (+325) and Povetkin (+600) can be eliminated by virtue of promoters targeting a rematch between those pugilists.

Theorizing that Joshua beats Pulev and goes to fight Fury, AJ will likely have to give up his WBO belt. Usyk (+260 to fight Wilder) is the mandatory contender for the WBO crown, and that would eliminate him from the Wilder sweepstakes as he’d be eyeballing that WBO hardware.

Andy Ruiz Jr (+150) makes a ton of sense because him and Wilder are coming off defeats to Fury and Joshua respectively. Having Ruiz Jr vs Wilder whereby the winner takes on the Joshua vs Fury victor would make a lot of sense.

Ultimately, I foresee Wilder fighting Ruiz next.
