Polls Show Race Tightening
The movement in the betting odds was in stark contrast to the polls. Numbers late Tuesday showed the race between Biden and Trump to be growing closer.
Analytics site fivethirtyeight.com was showing Biden with an 8.4-point overall advantage. Real Clear Politics were offering Biden a lead of 6.7 points in their aggregation of available polls.

A cross-section of numerous final polls showed Biden to still be leading Trump by anywhere from four to 10 points in the national polls. However, the numbers were becoming tighter in some key swing states.
Biden’s lead in Florida was down to 1.7 points. A Reuters/Ipsos poll was displaying that the races were a virtual dead heat in both Arizona and North Carolina.

The battleground states in the midwest, though, were still solidly leaning in Biden’s favor. Biden holds an average 2.5-point lead in Pennsylvania. His lead is 4.8 points in Michigan. Wisconsin polling was showing Biden with a 6.6-point edge on Trump.
Gallup-ing Toward Biden
One interesting poll taken by Gallup was displaying that the American public felt Biden has done a better job of delivering the goods on the campaign trail than Trump.
Nearly 56% of Americans told Gallup that Biden’s campaign was more fruitful than Trump’s performance. Among those polled who identified as political independents, 55% were of the opinion that Biden was the more satisfactory candidate when it came to campaigning.
A swing voter in Michigan told the BBC he chose Biden this time because ‘He seems like the kind of guy where you don’t have to listen to him talk every day.’
I’ve been thinking about that for hours.

Trump’s campaign performance was felt to be satisfactory by only 46% of respondents. He’s the first sitting President in US election history to ever score lower than 50% when it came to campaign approval.
By contrast, Barack Obama scored a 66% favorable rating for his campaign when he earned his second term as President in 2012.
