Who Earns The Next Featherweight Title Shot?
The stakes are high for the UFC Fight Island 6 main event between Korean Zombie and Brian Ortega as UFC president, Dana White confirmed the winner would get the next title shot.
Zombie & Ortega Recent Fights
Frankie Edgar, win by TKO | Fight 1 | Max Holloway, loss by TKO (title fight) |
Renato Moicano, win by TKO | Fight 2 | Frankie Edgar, win by KO |
Yair Rodriguez, loss by KO | Fight 3 | Cub Swanson, win by submission |
Dennis Bermudez, win by KO | Fight 4 | Renato Moicano, win by submission |
This is a phenomenal matchup and a fight that had to happen ever since Brian Ortega slapped Korean Zombie’s close friend and rapper, Jay Park at UFC 248. Ever since then, this rivalry has gotten personal, and both men do not like each other, which only adds to the intrigue of this fight.

A big question surrounding this fight is how will Ortega look after a long layoff. He hasn’t fought since December 2018 when he was dominated by Max Holloway for the featherweight title. Since then, he has had a plethora of injuries including a torn ACL. Korean Zombie, meanwhile, has been active and putting people away with ease.
There is no question Korean Zombie is the better striker and the harder hitter. Although Ortega has better jiu-jitsu skills but has had problems with his takedowns. His takedown percentage in the UFC is just 16 percent while Jung’s takedown defense is 77 percent.

Zombie should be able to keep this fight standing and use his range to piece up Ortega. This fight is very similar to Max Holloway against Ortega where Ortega couldn’t get the fight to the mat and was pieced up before the doctor stopped it. However, Korean Zombie hits much harder and will eventually knock Ortega out in the third or fourth round to become the next featherweight title challenger.
-188 is also not a bad price to pay on Korean Zombie. Also, when it comes out, look for a Zombie inside the distance prop.
Pick: Korean Zombie (-188)

Can Gane Remain Undefeated?
Ciryl Gane is one of the most hyped-up heavyweight prospects in quite some time, and so far in the UFC, he has proven he has all the potential in the world to be a future champion.
Gane & Delija Recent Fights
Tanner Boser, win by decision | Fight 1 | Oli Thompson, win by TKO |
Don’Tale Mayes, win by submission | Fight 2 | Carl Seumanutafa, win by decision |
Raphael Pessoa, win by submission | Fight 3 | Ricardo Prasel, win by decision |
Roggers Souza, win by TKO | Fight 4 | Marcin Tybura, loss by TKO (injury) |
Ante Delija is stepping in on short notice for his UFC debut, and he is taking on one of the best heavyweight prospects we have seen in quite some time.
Gane has all the skills in the world to win fights by knockout or to get the fight to the ground and submit his opponent. Ultimately, expect the Frenchman to use his four-inch reach advantage to piece up Delija and drop him and either finish by ground and pound or tap him out. Regardless, Gane by stoppage is a good bet.
Pick: Gane (-590)
Other UFC Fight Island 6 Picks:
- Katlyn Chookagian (+128): I like Chookagian to use her volume striking to be able to outpoint Andrade for a decision win.
- Jimmy Crute (-335): Crute is the better all-around fighter, yet -335 is too high for me to place a bet on him.
- Thomas Almeida (-155): Almeida is returning after nearly three years away. That being said, I like him to outstrike Martinez and eventually connect on something big to get the knockout.
- James Krause (-200): Silva’s best path to victory against anyone is to submit them. Yet, you aren’t going to submit Krause as I like him to keep it standing and piece up Silva to earn a clear decision.
