Ride With Kyle Busch
It’s mostly been a very average year for defending champ Kyle Busch as we’re 28 races into the season and he still doesn’t have a single win. That’s downright shocking as he’s won at least four races in five straight years. He has shown some signs of life of late, finishing sixth and seventh in his last two starts, which now gives him five results in the top seven in his last eight starts.

Given how he’s raced this year, it’s hard to bet him to win outright this week but keep him in mind for props and matchups. Busch has finished fourth or better three straight times at Bristol and five of his last six. Included in that is three wins. Overall, he’s won this race eight times in his career and has led laps in 10 of his last 14 here. He should be competing for the win.
Chase Elliott for a Top 10
Chase Elliott doesn’t have a very long track history at Bristol Motor Speedway as he’s only made starts here since 2016. However, the results have mostly been pretty good, so he’s worth a look for Top 10 props. Elliott finished 22nd in the spring race at Bristol but prior to that, was in the top 11 spots three straight times.

Keep in mind that the 22nd was actually because of a late blunder where he got tangled up with Joey Logano. Elliott was actually just a couple of laps away from winning the race – or at least finishing very well. He’s led at least 33 laps in four straight races at Bristol and should perform well this weekend.
Past Five Winners at Bass Pro Shops Night Race
Year | Driver |
---|---|
2019 | Denny Hamlin |
2018 | Kurt Busch |
2017 | Kyle Busch |
2016 | Kevin Harvick |
2015 | Joey Logano |
Bowyer Does Well at Bristol
Clint Bowyer might be a good bet to win outright this week if you’re feeling frisky. He’s a driver that has been consistently in contention at this track in recent years. Taking a look back through to 2015, Bowyer has eight Top 10’s in 10 races. That includes five straight results where he’s finished eighth or better – including a runner-up in May.

Bowyer has finished 10th in back-to-back starts and has Top 10’s in four of his last six. It’s probably a reach to expect him to win, although the +2100 is juicy. A respectable Top 10 result is a much more reasonable expectation.
