Both Tiger and Lefty are being given a boost heading into this week’s US Open at Winged Foot.
DraftKings is offering an odds boost on Tiger Woods winning the tournament. His betting line is being boosted from +4500 up to +5100 in the daily odds boosts from the leading sportsbooks.
The sportsbook is offering an additional odds boost that Phil Mickelson will finish second in the tournament. Lefty’s betting line in this instance gets a boost up to +4000 from +3300.

Mickelson finished second in the US Open in 2006, the last time it was held at Winged Foot. Woods missed the cut at the tourney that year.
Make the US Open Great Again
American golfers are riding a five-year winning streak in the tournament as the players tee it up for the 2020 US Open.
However, the guy who picked up two of those wins won’t be at Winged Foot in Mamoreneck, NY. this week.
Brooks Koepka, the 2017 and ’18 US Open champion, has withdrawn from this year’s event. He’s battled a knee injury all season long. Koepka finished second in last year’s US Open.

Past champions Gary Woodland (2019), Dustin Johson (2016) and Jordan Spieth (2015) will all be in the field. On average across the leading sportsbooks, Johnson is the +750 favorite in the 2020 US Open odds.
However, Johnson is the only American player with a listing among the top three contenders. Spain’s Jon Rahm (+900) and Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy (+1200) are right behind Johnson in this betting market.
US players Justin Thomas (+1200), Collin Morikawa (+1400), Xander Schauffele (+1400), Bryson DeChambeau (+1800) and Patrick Cantlay (+2000) are also offering good prices.

Winged Foot has served American golfers well when the course has played host to the US Open. Four of five previous winners here were US players – Fuzzy Zoeller (1984), Hale Irwin (1974), Billy Casper (1959) and Bobby Jones (1929). Australia’s Geoff Ogilvy wound up finishing as the winner the last time tourney was held here in 2006, though.
Americans are enjoying winning streaks at all three of the US-based courses among golf’s four majors. Besides the five straight US Opens, American players have won five PGA Championships in a row and back-to-back Masters.

Has Lefty Had His Phil?
When it comes to the US Open, Phil Mickelson is #2. And it could be said that Lefty did a #2 all over the final hole of the tournament in 2006.
Telling the story of the 2006 US Open at Winged Foot can’t be done without reliving the tale of Mickelson on 18 on Sunday in 2006. He teed up on the hole with a two-shot lead over Ogilvy. He putted out one stroke behind the Aussie, a double bogey costing him the title by one shot.
Speaking to reporters moments later, Mickelson didn’t wait to be asked a question. “I’m such an idiot,” Mickelson said in a brutally honest summation of his performance on that hole.
It was the fourth of a record six times that Lefty has finished second in the US Open. He’s never been a winner of the tournament.
Mickelson’s runner-up performances were recorded in 1999, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2009 and 2013. Will this year be unlucky #7?

That seems highly doubtful. In his last four majors, Mickelson’s best finish is a tie for 52nd. That stretch is including him twice tying for 71st and once ending up missing the cut.
Mickelson hasn’t cracked the top 20 in his last 13 majors. His best finish over his last five US Opens is a tie for 28th.
Lefty isn’t finishing second at Winged Foot this time around.
