We’ve reached Day 6 of the US Open with no hiccups in terms of positive COVID-19 results. Despite several of the top names coming into this grand slam with no essential warmups, we’ve witnessed very few upsets against ranked players so far. Read on for our best bets from round three on Saturday here.

Matteo Berrettini vs Casper Ruud

It still feels somewhat surreal to call Matteo Berrettini an upper-echelon player. Yet with his ridiculous run last year, coupled with his stellar play during the Open, it’s safe to say that the 24-year-old isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

Things have been relatively easy for him thus far. Matchups against Go Soeda and Ugo Humbert went exactly how most believed they would with straight-set victories for Berrettini. Coming into his contest against Casper Ruud, things will be much more difficult.

Ruud has made it his business to make oddsmakers lives a living hell with his upset wins over Mackenzie McDonald and Emil Ruusuvouri, but his Cinderella-like run is going to come to an end when Berrettini blasts him off the court.

Karen Khachanov Finding Ways to Win

There are a bunch of good matchups to choose from on Day 6, but none seem some intriguing then 11th seeded Karen Khachanov vs 21 seed Alex De Minaur.

Khachanov has one of the fastest and hardest serves in the game. To be frank, his serve is the only reason why he’s still here today. His first round matchup against Jannik Sinner seemed to be all but done as Khachanov found himself down two early sets. Luckily for him, however, his opponent began tiring which allowed Khachanov to climb back into the matchup.

Despite his early round troubles, he did have a much easier time in the second round against Andrey Kuznetsov, wiping him out in three sets.

If Khachanov doesn’t bring his A-game to the table once again, he’ll find himself on the outside looking in.

Alex De Minaur Looks Great

It may have been two soft touches against Andrej Martin and Richard Gasquet but De Minaur took care of business.

The Australian native has it all. Speed, power and resiliency. All of that and more will be needed if he wants to keep his dreams alive.

This matchup is as close as it gets. At least according to the odds but in actuality, this should be a straightforward win for De Minaur.

Don’t get me wrong, Khachanov is one helluva player but he’s one step below De Minaur, despite the rankings.

Expect De Minaur to win in four sets.
