Odds taken April 22nd. *Teams without a first-round pick.
The NFL Draft begins at 8:00 pm EST on April 23rd and continues through April 25th.
Offense/Defense Wagering
Since the original offense/defense props were established earlier this month, a number of teams have seen their odds do a complete 180 when it comes to whether they will pick an offensive or defensive player with their first pick.
The Tennessee Titans, Seattle Seahawks, Minnesota Vikings, Houston Texans, Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Rams are among this group.
Chiefs Could Defy Odds
Originally, the oddsmakers couldn’t make heads or tails out of what Kansas City might opt to do to open draft day. Sportsbooks didn’t even offer odds on whether the Chiefs would select an offensive or defensive player with their first selection of the draft in the original betting line.
In the latest posting, defense is the side of the ball where the bookmakers have the Chiefs leaning toward. Kansas City is -182 to take a defensive player, and +149 to select an offensive talent.
Theoretically, that makes logical sense. Super Bowl champion KC lit it up on offense last season. The Chiefs were the NFL’s #7 offense (379.2 per game). However, they were the league’s #16 defense (349.6).
According to Peter King, the Kansas City Chiefs want to trade up for Henry Ruggs III if he falls into the lower part of the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft.

However, it appears that the Chiefs believe that the best defense is a powerful offense. Considering that the Lombardi Trophy currently resides at Arrowhead Stadium, it’s hard to argue with that sentiment.
There’s growing expectations that Kansas City will look to give quarterback Patrick Mahomes more weapons to work with when the Chiefs have the ball. They might go for Georgia running back D’Andre Swift. Or they could opt to protect Mahomes and add Michigan center Cesar Ruiz.
As well, there’s a rumor gaining steam that KC is seeking to trade up in a bid to draft Alabama speed merchant wide receiver Henry Ruggs III to further bolster their Legion of Zoom.
Pick: Kansas City Chiefs take an offensive player (+149)
Titans Will Tackle Area of Need
The oddsmakers don’t seem to know what to make of the Titans. The original betting line offered negative odds for both offensive (-126) and defensive (-102) first selections by Tennessee.
The current line leans to the defense at -134, compared to +110 for the offense. But it might be leaning in the wrong direction.

Losing free agent tackle Jack Conklin to the Cleveland Browns, Tennessee must fill a key void. And guys who can do that for the Titans include USC’s Austin Jackson or Georgia’s Isaiah Wilson.
Pick: Tennessee Titans take an offensive player (+110)
Exact Position Wagering
There are some players that just make sense as a fit with certain NFL teams. These ones also come with a decent betting payout attached to their arrival.
Jaguars Must Address D Line
The oddsmakers have always leaned toward the Jaguars getting some help for the defensive side of the ball. Defense was at -280 in opening odds. It’s still favored but now at -155.

The position that is of urgent need is the defensive line. The Jags already said goodbye to defensive ends Calais Campbell and Marcell Dareus. Disgruntled defensive end Yannick Ngkoue wants a trade.
Pick: Jacksonville Jaguars select a defensive lineman (+200)
Jets Will Help Out Darnold
The thinking was that the New York Jets would look to provide protection for QB Sam Darnold and draft an offensive lineman. But the Jets need something for their fans to get excited about.

They will instead look to provide Darnold with a first-rate receiving target. Look for the Jets to move for either Oklahoma’s CeeDee Lamb or Alabama’s Jerry Jeudy.
Pick: New York Jets select a wide receiver (+125)
