Presidential endorsements are up for grabs from Elizabeth Warren, Andrew Yang, and Tulsi Gabbard. Which way will they go?
Democrats have two options to back, either Bernie Sanders or Joe Biden. Or do they? The odds of Gabbard crossing party lines and endorsing Donald Trump have been set at a relatively short +200.
Endorsements can go a long way to putting a candidate over the top in the 2020 Presidential election odds. Biden found himself enjoying a massively successful performance on Super Tuesday. It was sparked in part by the endorsements he received. Among those endorsing Biden were former Democratic Presidential candidates Amy Klobuchar, Beto O’Rourke, and Pete Buttigieg.
Biden has since been endorsed by Michael Bloomberg, another failed Democratic candidate. He also has received endorsements from Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, John Delaney, Deval Patrick and Tim Ryan. The only failed Democratic candidates endorsing Sanders are New York Mayor Bill de Blasio and Marianne Williamson.
Odds on Who Andrew Yang Will Endorse
Candidate | Odds |
---|---|
Joe Biden | -200 |
Bernie Sanders | +150 |

Yang suspended his campaign for the Presidency nearly a month ago. Thus far, he is declining to offer his endorsement to a candidate. Yang is insisting that he wants to see the democratic process play out.

He did add that if either Biden or Sanders were to come out in support of universal basic income, they’d gain his endorsement. UBI was the basis of Yang’s campaign for President.
He’s also noted that both candidates have called, seeking to woo him over to their side.
Pick: Stay away
Odds on Who Elizabeth Warren Will Endorse
Candidate | Odds |
---|---|
Joe Biden | -150 |
Bernie Sanders | +110 |
Since dropping out of the Democratic Presidential race last week, Warren is playing it coy. During an appearance on Saturday Night Live, she jokingly suggested that she might follow the lead of the New York Times by endorsing both candidates. The Times famously endorsed both Warren and Klobuchar for the Democratic nomination.
Progressives are applying pressure to Warren to give her backing to Sanders. He’s the other Progressive in the race.

Those folks seem to be forgetting the dispute that Warren and Sanders engaged in during a Democratic Presidential debate. Warren accused Sanders of telling her a women could never be elected President. Standing next to her on the debate stage, Sanders flatly denied ever saying this.
Warren indicated that she wants to take some time before making a decision on whether she’ll offer an endorsement to either candidate. But it’s clear that she has her issues with Sanders.
Pick: Joe Biden (-150)
Odds on Tulsi Gabbard Endorsing Donald Trump

No | OFF |
Four years ago, Gabbard endorsed Sanders for the Democratic nomination. In fact, she gave the speech officially putting forth his nomination at the 2016 Democratic convention.
.@JoeBiden @BernieSanders I’m sure you would agree that our Democratic nominee should be a person who will stand up for what is right. So I ask that you have the courage to do that now in the face of the DNC's effort to keep me from participating in the debates. #LetTulsiDebate

Now, with only two delegates to her name, she’s asking Biden and Sanders to help get her at the podium for the next round of debates. This despite the fact that she doesn’t qualify to be on stage.
Gabbard is clearly a wild card. Some of her talking points make her sound more like a Republican. Frequently during this election, she’s publicly supported moves made by President Trump.
Pick: Yes (+200)
