Tajh Boyd wants to keep the Clemson Tigers undefeated and with an eye on the BCS Championship game, but he will have to go over the Syracuse Orange, an opponent that have weapons to give them plenty of headaches.  The game is Saturday at 3:30 PM ET at Carrier Dome.

“Hey, we ask for solid orange,” Clemson quarterback Tajh Boyd said, talking about the school slogan. “We’re going to get it when we get up there.”

Clemson is 4-0, and Boyd has thrown three touchdowns in three of Syracuse four games this season.  He’s a Heisman candidate, and a win at Syracuse should earn him a little more respect towards to it.

“Every time you play, it’s huge, and it shouldn’t matter where that’s at,” Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said.

Syracuse is 2-2 but 2-0 at home as they beat Wagner and Tulane in the last two weeks they played in. A Syracuse win over Clemson would be the program’s biggest victory since 1984 when it knocked off No. 1 Nebraska.

“He’s a great one,” Syracuse coach Scott Shafer said of Tajh Boyd. “I don’t think you treat it different than any other game. It takes a little bit of balance, in my opinion. It’s focusing in and controlling the controllable in an environment where it would be easy to get overly excited to play outside the framework of who you are as an individual player. A lot of teams make the mistake of treating it as a world championship.”

The college football odds have the Tigers as 13.5 point favorites, and the game total was set at 64 points.
