The 2019 Copa América tournament took place in Brazil and it was the home side that would eventual triumph, earning a 3-1 victory over underdog Peru in the final in Rio de Janeiro. This page tracked the odds to win the de facto South American championship for all the participating nations.

The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages along with the two best third-place teams.

Here are some more notes on the movement from the major contenders for Copa América 2019:

  • [July 5] Brazil and Peru are set to meet in Sunday’s final with the Brazilians huge -700 favorites to lift the trophy on home soil.
  • [July 1] After narrowly defeating Paraguay in penalties, Brazil are into the semis and are now odds-on to win the tournament with average odds of -130.
  • [June 25] With the group stage complete Brazil are now even-money favorites. Colombia’s average odds have shortened from +830 to +500 since the tournament began, while Argentina has drifted to +550 from +370. Each of the top eight teams has advanced.
  • [June 13] Chile’s odds have lengthened slightly just prior to tournament kick off, now at an average of +1200 from +1000 on June 3.
  • [June 3] Brazil’s odds continue to shorten down to +110.
  • [May 14] Uruguay’s odds have begun to shorten moving from +750 to +630.
  • [April 16] Odds remain unchanged since opening with Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Colombia still among the top four favorites.
  • [February 14] Host nation Brazil open as strong favorites to win the 46th edition of the tournament.

With 12 teams split across three groups, Brazil opens with the shortest odds from Group A, while Argentina have the shortest among Group B teams.

When it comes to Group C, World Cup quarter-finalists Uruguay open with the shortest odds in their group. However two-time defending champs Chile are not far behind.

Invitees Qatar, who are hosting the 2022 World Cup, are seen as massive underdogs with odds of +8000.
