- Jets are the +144 underdogs despite having won 10 of 17 games on the road this season
- Winnipeg is 4-1 SU over its last five games; 7-3 in last 10
- Dallas has allowed fourth-fewest goals per game against and are 9-4-1 on home ice
The Winnipeg Jets have been one of the NHL’s best teams on the road this season, winning 10 of their 17 games away from Bell MTS Centre.
However, entering action on Thursday night, the Jets are intriguing +141 underdogs against the Dallas Stars.
Is there value in taking the Jets to win their 11th road game of the season or will the Stars come out on top?
Here’s a closer look at the Jets vs Stars odds with stats to help make your betting decisions a little easier.
Winnipeg Jets vs Dallas Stars Odds
Team | Moneyline | Puckline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Winnipeg Jets | +141 | +1.5 (-190) | O 5.5 (+121) |
Dallas Stars | -156 | -1.5 (+165) | U 5.5 (-133) |
Odds taken on Dec. 4
When sportsbooks released the opening odds for this matchup, the Stars were initially listed as the -165 favorites. However, the moneyline moved slightly and will likely continue to do so leading up to puck drop.
The Jets have been lights out on the road this season, as the club has won five of their last seven games on the road heading into action on Thursday night.
Winnipeg sits third in the Central Division and has won seven of its last 10 games. The Stars got off to a miserable start but nine of their 15 wins have come on home ice.

Winnipeg’s SU Record Make Jets an Enticing Wager
Looking at the betting trends for this highly-anticipated matchup, the moneyline may be an intriguing one for the Jets, who are 4-1 straight up over their last five games. Winnipeg has also posted a remarkable 7-3 SU record over its last 10 games.
What has been the key to Winnipeg’s surge this season? Patrik Laine’s goal production may not be on pace for a career season, but the Finnish star leads the team in scoring with 27 points in 26 games.

However, perhaps the bigger story out of Winnipeg this season has been the play of goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, whose .934 save percentage ranks second overall in the NHL. While the Jets have been scoring at a high pace, the team has allowed the seventh-fewest goals per game (2.71) this season thanks in large part to Hellebuyck.
Sportsbooks have set the total goals for Thursday’s game at 5.5, but neither team has played in many high-scoring situations this season. The Jets have posted an Over/Under record of 10-16-2, with three of the team’s last four games resulting in “Under” outcomes.

Jets, Stars Should Be a Defensive Matchup
Much of this can be attributed to Winnipeg’s stingy defense and the remarkable play of Hellebuyck. The Stars, who are allowing the fourth-fewest goals against per game (2.45) this season, have also played 18 games resulting in “Under” outcomes this season.
The head-to-head matchup between these two Central Division foes will be one to pay close attention to before placing a wager.

This is the second meeting between the Jets and Stars, with Winnipeg skating away with a 5-1 win in their last game on December 3. If you’re looking at the matchup over the last three games, the Jets have posted a 2-1-0 record over that stretch too.
For a bigger sample size, the head-to-head numbers have been fairly even over the last 10 games. Winnipeg has posted a 6-4-0 record during that period.
This game is going to be decided by one goal and may even need extra time to decide a winner. However, Winnipeg’s odds offer value considering how strong the team has played on the road this season.
Bet on the Jets straight up.
Pick: Winnipeg Jets (+141)
