Champions of Atlanta
Heroic enters this tournament as defending DreamHack champions. Just a couple of weeks ago, Heroic went into Atlanta and took down the likes of Virtus.pro and Sprout. Although this tournament features some stiffer competition, the Danish roster of Heroic should have a lot of confidence behind them.

Even though they’re riding a recent DreamHack win, they were defeated in the grand finals of DreamHack Rotterdam by Cr4zy. A lot of these teams are evenly matched and although I’d expect to see Heroic in the finals, it wouldn’t be surprising if someone else wins it all. Heroic is simply too inconsistent to warrant betting on them as favorites.
Highest Ranked Participants
Just behind Heroic in the odds is FURIA, who find themselves highest in the HLTV rankings out of all participants. Ranked 13th in the world, FURIA has been impressive ever since Hen1 joined the team back in September. Their results are highlighted by an excellent showing at StarSeries & iLeague Season 8 where they finished in third place.
Their run to the losers finals saw them pick up 2-0 wins over Team Vitality, G2 Esports and Renegades before they were eventually eliminated by Fnatic.

Prior to that event, they also picked up a 2-0 victory over ENCE. In the past couple of months, FURIA has a couple of big wins over teams ranked higher than them in the HLTV standings and they should be looked at as big threats at DreamHack Winter. They also drew the easier of the two groups as they’re joined in Group A by forZe, Tricked, and MARSKALK.
GODSENT Replace 100 Thieves
If 100 Thieves were here, they no doubt would have been the favorites to win this tournament. The former Renegades roster has risen up the CS:GO ranks in the past few tournaments. Instead, their spot will fall to GODSENT who have the opportunity to make some noise in a less than stacked field. GODSENT just recently got back into CS:GO by picking up the former roster of SMASH Esports.
Although there weren’t too many notable results as a part of SMASH, under the GODSENT banner they’ve already picked up a couple of big wins. At the WePlay Forge of Masters Season 2, GODSENT picked up a best-of-one victory over forZe, and swept Tricked Esport in the grand finals.

This result alone makes it a little strange that Tricked Esport has higher odds of winning. GODSENT is in a great spot to play spoiler, and as the odds lie now, I’d put money on FURIA and GODSENT meeting in the finals. Although GODSENT is in the more difficult group, expect them to continue their ascent and take down the likes of Heroic.
Picks: To Win – FURIA (+300), To Reach Finals – FURIA (EVEN) & GODSENT (+175)
