Combate Americas action returns this Friday for Combate Americas 48 in Garland, Texas.
The main card features four bouts and in the main event, Angelo Trevino takes on Gilbert Urbina. The card also sees a plethora of young Latino fighters taking to the ring.
Angelo Trevino vs. Gilbert Urbina Odds
Fighter | Odds | Odds |
---|---|---|
Angelo Trevino | -150 | -155 |
Gilbert Urbina | +120 | +125 |
All odds taken Oct. 30.
Angelo Trevino has not fought since he lost by submission to Austin Vanderford in 2018. He had some success in the fight, but gave up his back in the second round to the now Bellator fighter. Gilbert Urbina, meanwhile, is coming off of a decision loss in LFA to current UFC fighter, Sean Brady.

This is a very interesting fight as Trevino is a striker and has power in his kicks and punches. Urbina, meanwhile, is a jiu-jitsu ace and here I think he will be able to get Trevino down to the ground and win by submission.
Pick: Gilbert Urbina (+125)
Abril Anguiano vs. Paola Ramirez Odds
Fighter | Odds | Odds |
---|---|---|
Abril Anguiano | -205 | -210 |
Paola Ramirez | +165 | +170 |
Abril Anguiano is looking to stay undefeated here against Ramirez. Anguiano is just 20-years-old and made her professional debut earlier this year as she knocked out Sha Whittington in 28 seconds, and knocked out Erica Torres in her second fight.
Paola Ramirez, meanwhile, is 1-2 and coming off of a decision loss to Christina Marks back in 2017.
This fight should be a clear win for Anguiano who is one of the better prospects in the game. I suspect she will knock out Ramirez in the first round and possibly end her 2019 at 3-0.
Pick: Abril Anguiano (-205)
Hector Fajardo vs. Aaron Vickers Odds
Fighter | Odds | Odds |
---|---|---|
Hector Fajardo | -180 | -180 |
Aaron Vickers | +135 | +150 |
Hector Fajardo is coming off of a very impressive submission win in his Combate Americas debut. Meanwhile, Aaron Vickers is coming off of a failed bid in his Bellator debut at Bellator 218 earlier this year.

Fajardo is just 2-0 but has looked impressive in both his fights with a submission win over a very tough Jose Avalos in his Combate debut and a defeat of Philip Schwartz by decision.
Vickers, meanwhile, will be his toughest fight to date as his only two losses are to Contender Series alum, Armando Villarreal, and against Isaiah Gutierrez in Bellator.
In this fight, I suspect Fajardo to get this fight to the mat and submit Vickers in the second or third round.
Pick: Hector Fajardo (-180)
Aldair Romero vs. Melvin Lopez Odds
Fighter | Odds | Odds |
---|---|---|
Aldair Romero | +375 | +375 |
Melvin Lopez | -550 | -500 |
Aldair Romero lost in his professional debut while Melvin Lopez is set for his pro-MMA debut.
Romero is coming off of a loss to Carlos Mascorro and also went 0-1 as an amateur. Lopez, meanwhile, was 3-2 as an amateur and coming off of a decision win over Steven Orozco.
All of Lopez’s fight have gone the distance and he has the cardio and skill set to outpoint Romero here. I don’t know how good Romero can be as he was very lackluster in his debut, but I like Lopez to win here by decision.
Pick:Â Melvin Lopez (-500)
