BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen Odds & Prediction

• The fifth event of the BLAST Pro Series gets underway on November 1st in Copenhagen
• Astralis enter as massive favorites after they qualified for the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals in Odense
• Team Liquid, Astralis and Faze Clan have all won BLAST events in 2019

Another CS:GO tournament, another event where Astralis enter as huge favorites. BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen begins on November 1st and is the final BLAST event before the Global Final. With their recent performances at StarLadder Berlin and ESL Pro League Season 10: Europe, Astralis is once again the odds on favorite to finish first.

Astralis Returns to the Top

Team Liquid had their lengthy run of wins, but Astralis is once again on top of the CS:GO world. HLTV has them ranked as the number 1 team and it’s warranted after their big win at StarLadder Berlin. To further their reign, Astralis just recently qualified for the ESL Pro League Season 10 Finals by dominating over Group C in the European qualifiers.

As always, Astralis deserve to be the favorites. Their toughest competition at BLAST Pro Series will be their year long rivals in Team Liquid. Astralis has taken control of the match up over the past couple of months. Their most recent head-to-head match came at ESL One: New York where Astralis just narrowly beat TL 2:1.

Luckily for Astralis, the hottest CS:GO teams aren’t participating in BLAST Copenhagen. Both Fnatic and Evil Geniuses are the new top teams on the block but Astralis won’t have to deal with them at this tournament.

The Decline of Team Liquid

Ever since their dominant run came to an end back at StarLadder Berlin, Team Liquid has looked out of sorts. Losing to Astralis is understandable, but aside from their 5th place finish in Berlin, and their 3rd place finish at ESL One New York, TL has been shockingly disappointing.

At DreamHack Malmo, Team Liquid lost their round 1 match to Optic Gaming to get dropped to the lower bracket. Then after beating North 2:1, They fell victim to Grayhound Gaming.

Grayhound is ranked 16th on HLTV’s global rankings, while Optic doesn’t even make the top 30. Matches against teams of this caliber should be a write-off. Instead Liquid has introduced an aura of uncertainty, and there’s no knowing if they can get back to their old selves.

If DreamHack Malmo was a one off tournament it’d be more understandable. Prior to that, TL had also fallen short to the 29th ranked Sharks Esports in the ECS Season 8 semifinals.

Team Liquid still has the talent to make a deep run at any tournament, but their recent match history is concerning to say the least.

The Revamped Natus Vincere

Although Na’Vi isn’t a safe bet either, there’s reasons to believe that they’re on the way up. Just one month ago, Na’Vi signed Guardian to replace the retired Zeus. The new line-up was on display at DreamHack Malmo and their performance was a positive one. Despite only playing together for less than a month, the new look Na’Vi made it all the way to the semifinals.

Admittedly, it wasn’t the toughest road but they did pick up wins over North, Optic and Ninjas in Pyjamas. They were eventually knocked out by the tough Team Vitality and even then Na’Vi had moments of brilliance.

As Guardian continues to grow chemistry with the rest of his new teammates, Natus Vincere should continue to improve and they might be able to crack into the finals at BLAST Copenhagen.

I know betting on a European team winning isn’t a juicy bet, but NA’s only realistic chance to win is Team Liquid. I don’t even have Team Liquid making it to the finals of BLAST Copenhagen so there’s no way that I can throw money at NA.

Astralis will likely win another tournament, and even if they were to somehow lose, I’d expect it to be because of a Na’Vi upset.
