Of the three title bouts on this card, this is the most significant prize fight within that triple header by a long shot. Estrada has won WBO, WBA, and now the WBC championship.

Beamon has won world and intercontinental titles at feather, bantam, and flyweight, but the wealth of experience Estrada has cultivated since beginning boxing as a nine-year-old will lead him to victory.

Estrada retains his WBC title

The WBC title took Estrada two cracks with a loss to Srisaket Sor Rungvisai, which he avenged in the rematch 14 months later.

Estrada now has most of the significant hardware for his division, is the present lineal champion, and is the man to beat. Beamon overcame his own struggles and defeated an opponent who previously bested him by defeating Martin Tecuapetla in August 2018.

Estrada is in a strange position where he’s the younger fighter but has much more ring experience. The 29-year-old Estrada has logged 266 rounds of ring time while the 34-year-old Beamon has less than 100 (95).

Estrada vs Beamon pits the number one ranked fighter in his given division against a fighter ranked at #21, per Box Rec. There are just different levels in pugilism and Estrada occupies that pound for pound ranked, rarified air.

He’s not untouchable as evidenced by past defeats but I would be gobsmacked if Beamon won. I can see Estrada putting on a sweet science clinic and finessing Beamon over twelve rounds to get a unanimous decision win.
