- Sofia Kenin has reached two semifinals in the past two weeks ahead of the US Open.
- Kenin has show confidence on all playing surfaces.

Twenty and No. 20
When the WTA rankings came out on Monday, Kenin accomplished her highest ranking to date at No. 20. This ranking is well deserved after an incredible showing the past two tournaments at both the Rogers Cup in Toronto and the Western and Southern Open in Ohio.

This summer Kenin has beat two No.1s in Naomi Osaka, just recently at the Cincinnati Masters, as well as Ashleigh Barty earlier at the Rogers Cup.
Kenin’s Konsistency
The more matches we see Sofia play, the more consistent she seems to get. We’ve been able to see that a single shot to win the game isn’t how she plays, so she keeps her cool and tries to stay solid and consistent.

Kenin’s consistency has also come no matter the surface she’s playing on. This summer she beat Serena Williams at the French Open on clay, had a title run at the Mallorca Open on grass, and has reached the semifinals in her last two events on hard-court.
US Open Darkhorse
After Sofia Kenin’s run at the Western & Southern Open this past week, we’ve seen her average US Open odds shorten dramatically from +6600 last month to +2500 now. But if there value in betting her to win the US Open, or even to make a deep run?
Although this is not her first US Open, she made history a few years ago.

She’s not quite at the point to be a top contender for the US Open title, especially with how deep the field looks at the moment with fellow Americans Madison Keys coming off a win at in Cincinnati, Sloane Stephens always a contender at Ashe after winning the title in 2017, and Serena Williams lurking.
Without the draw officially announced yet, we can’t see who waits in Kenin’s path, but she’s as good a longshot as any player in the field to go on a run and provide the bettor with some bang for their buck.
