Jordan Spieth Poised for First Win in Nearly Two Years

He has been saying it all year but few would listen to him – Jordan Spieth’s game is close to coming back to its once dominant form.

He finally put his words into action at the PGA Championship, where he posted his first top-20 finish of the year, a very encouraging third-place result.

Spieth putted absolutely brilliantly at Bethpage Black, but most importantly, at least had a semblance of game with the driver.

This season he ranks a ghastly 198th in strokes gained off the tee, but if he can finish third at the punishing PGA Championship site, the friendly confines of Colonial (won in 2016) will serve him well.

Xander Schauffele a Strong Bet at Charles Schwab Challenge

There’s very few golf courses that fit Xander Schauffele’s style of play more perfectly than Colonial Country Club.

Accuracy off the tee is paramount (Schauffele 27th in strokes gained off the tee) and ball striking is especially key (19th strokes gained tee to green).

Schauffele is coming off a solid tie for 16th at the PGA Championship and was runner-up at the Masters last month. His steady play and guile should serve Schauffele – second on the FedEx Cup points list – well this week.

3. Matt Every (+11000): Long shot pick with upside. Runner-up to Sung Kang in his last event two weeks ago, the AT&T Byron Nelson. Two weeks before that, Every was T-3rd in New Orleans. Inside the top-20 in six of nine tournaments this year.
