Curry vs Curry in the Regular Season
The Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers went head-to-head four times in the regular season, splitting the series 2-2. Although we didn’t see Steph in the first matchup due to injury, we have already gotten a taste of the Curry vs Curry matchup we’ll see in the Western Conference Finals.
Despite Seth not being a starter, both brothers play point guard as well as shooting guard, so expect there to be times where where the brothers will go head to head.
Throughout the regular season, Steph averaged 27.3 points, while Seth averaged 7.9.
Steph also has had the upper hand when the two teams faced each other during 2018-19 regular season as seen below.
Steph Curry vs Seth Curry in 2018-19 Head-to-Head Matchups
DNP | November 23 (@GSW) | 2 Points (1-3 FG, 0-1 3PT) |
29 Points (11-26 FG, 6-15 3PT) | December 27 (@GSW) | 11 Points (4-7 FG, 3-5 3PT) |
25 Points (6-15 FG, 2-8 3PT) | December 29 (@POR) | 3 Points (1-5 FG, 1-2 3PT) |
32 Points (10-24 FG, 5-14 3PT) | February 13 (@POR) | 11 Points (3-6 FG, 0-3 3PT) |
Seth just hasn’t be able to put the same numbers up as his brother.
Curry vs Curry in the Playoffs
Both brothers have been important factors in each of their teams’ success in the playoffs, averaging consistent minutes. Steph has had to step up after Durant went down, and Seth has contributed when the Trail Blazers’ superstars have had a tough time.

My Take
Is this going to be a fun series, and ultimately a dream come true for the brothers? Yes, this has never happen before in NBA history, and it’ll be sure to produce some great stories, and a fun atmosphere.

But will Seth outscore his brother Steph in a game during the Western Conference Finals? Not a chance. There’s nothing in the stats, or the past matchups that can convince me that that could happen.
Pick: No (-700)
