- The St. Louis Cardinals are first in the NL Central
- They’ve seen their odds go from +1600 to +1000 in the past 15 days
- Their .655 winning percentage is second in the MLB
The St. Louis Cardinals ended April on a high note, winning 10 of their last 12 games. Their improved play has brought their record to 19-10, and has dramatically changed their World Series odds.

It’s a long season, but April was good to the St. Louis Cardinals. They ended the month off with the best record in the NL, and a +32 run differential.

LA Dodgers Still the Class of the NL
Despite the Cardinals sweeping the Dodgers earlier this month, the Dodgers still had an unbelievable month of April, with the help of Cody Bellinger smashing MLB records. Now that May has arrived they’re the NL team to watch, as seen below with the MLB Power Rankings.

But don’t count the Cardinals out of anything just yet. If their current jump in World Series odds is an indication of what we can expect from them over the summer months, then they’re not going away anytime soon. The Cardinals could be truly dangerous once their pitching starts to match their hitting.
Yankees Still Plugging Away Despite Injuries
With most of their team on the IR, 15 players to be exact, the Yankees have still managed to only lose just one game in the past week, and still hold a 17-12 record. They’ve continued to stay in the power rankings week in and week out with little movement, and are still tied with the Dodgers with +450 odds to win the World Series.

I’m expecting the Dodgers to have a repeat appearance at the Fall Classic this year, and don’t be surprised if the Yankees join them.
