Odds Say Iron Man Will Die in Avengers: Endgame

• Despite being killed off by Thanos in the last installment, many of the favorite superheroes are scheduled to come back
• Speculation is that Robert Downey Jr., however, will be giving his last performance as Iron Man

It’s only been weeks since Brie Larson wowed audiences in Captain Marvel, but in Marvel movies, that’s a lifetime. There’s no time like the present, it seems, for yet another Marvel film.

On April 24, Avengers: Endgame brings back the Avengers, Black Panther, Guardians of the Galaxy, and more. The last time we saw all these characters on the screen together in Avengers: Infinity War most of them were killed off.

But superhero movies are like soap operas: death is just an excuse to come back to life.

Eleven years after first strapping into his red and gold superhero suit, Robert Downey Jr. will return as Iron Man and Tony Stark in April’s Avengers: Endgame for the 10th time in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film.

Between Iron Man feature films, Avengers installments, and appearances in other heroes’ spinoffs, Downey Jr. has donned his super suit more than any other Avenger. But more than a decade in, many are betting he’ll throw in the iron helmet.

Whether it’s Downey’s choice or Disney’s (the company who operates Marvel), it’s very likely this is the end for this incarnation of Iron Man. After all, Avengers: Endgame is meant to be a sort of “reset” within this franchise.

Odds Deadpool Makes an Appearance in Avengers: Endgame

Disney just finished their acquisition of 21st Century Fox, the parent company that was overseeing part of the Marvel universe that includes Deadpool.

Even though the deal was in the works for over a year, it’s a bit too tight to work Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool into this film. It’s really unlikely Disney would have shot Avengers: Endgame with Deadpool scenes just in case the deal fell out for some reason.

Fans are also wondering how Disney will work the adult themes of Fox characters into the more family-friendly fare like Avengers. It’s way too soon for them to have ironed that issue out. But it’ll happen later.

Odds Captain America (Chris Evans) Dies in Avengers: Endgame

Since it’s almost a given that Downey Jr.’s Iron Man is going to die in this Avengers installment, it’s pretty much impossible that Chris Evans’ Captain America will die in the same film as Iron Man.

If we’ve learned anything from Avengers movies, it’s that the franchise is a slow, drawn-out process.

Evans has had much less time in the super suit than Downey Jr. Some would argue that he’s still getting started. Even though Avengers: Endgame is his 11th time as Steve Rogers/Captain America, surely Marvel is going to milk another film out of him.
