Trump Now Heavily Favored to Lose 2020 US Presidential Election

• Oddsmakers are now offering strong odds that Donald Trump will lose the 2020 Presidential election
• Former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan has stated publicly that he thinks Trump could lose

Odds Donald Trump Will Win 2020 Presidential Election

The last time an incumbent was defeated in a Presidential election, like Trump, it was a Republican. George HW Bush failed to win a second term in the White House when he was beaten by Democrat Bill Clinton in 1992.

Why Might Trump Lose?

Where do we start? His obsession with building a border wall. Trump’s government shutdown over said wall. His national emergency declaration, again about his wall. And Mexico isn’t paying for it, as he promised they would during the 2016 Presidential campaign.

His tax cut, which regular folks have come to realize as they file their 2018 returns, is nailing them in the pocketbook. Most recently, his plan to slash $845 from Medicare in his proposed 2020 budget went completely against another of his 2016 campaign promises.

Trump’s budget:

All while directing billions to build his wall. Make no mistake, this budget will hurt the poor, elderly, and Americans with disabilities.

And we haven’t even yet mentioned the 17 ongoing investigations targeting his world, or the Mueller Report regarding the 2016 election, which could drop before people go to the polls in 2020.

He still seems to have the majority of the Republican Party heeding his every beck and call, but some who no longer are involved in government are speaking out against Trump.

Former Speaker of the House Paul Ryan recently suggested Trump could lose the 2020 election if the campaign becomes one about Trump and his personality, rather than the issues.

Pretty rich. Mitt Romney’s failed 2012 running mate, the speaker who lied to us and didn't deliver Wall funding (and then lost the house) gives advice on winning.

After being admonished by Trump’s son, Ryan backtracked.

Ryan now thinks Trump will win in 2020.

Might Trump Face a Primary Challenge?

There’s a very real chance Trump may have competition for the Republican nomination in 2020. Mitt Romney and John Kasich are among names mentioned as potential challengers to Trump.

An American Barometer survey revealed that 72 percent of those polled want to see Trump face a primary challenge in 2020.

How Can Trump Win?

Well, for starters, Presidential incumbents are 10-2 in elections since Franklin D Roosevelt first ran for re-election in 1936.

At this point we have no idea who will be Trump’s Democratic challenger. None of the 14 declared candidates have established themselves as clear front-runners.

Trump began planning his second term the day he set foot in the Oval Office. He’s raised $20 million to fund his campaign, and as we learned in 2016, he’ll say anything and do anything to get power. He’ll be just as ruthless in his bid to maintain it.
