UFC 235 is set to go down on Saturday night, live from the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The card is absolutely stacked, featuring two title fights, Ben Askren’s debut, and so many other compelling fights. And, like any UFC card, there is a wide array of prop bets for this pay-per-view event.

Here are the five props I’m most confident in.
1) Askren vs Lawler Does Not Go the Distance
Does Askern vs Lawler Go the Distance? | Odds |
---|---|
Yes | -230 |
No | +190 |
*All odds taken 03/01/19
Ben Askren is set to make his highly anticipated UFC debut after years of UFC President Dana White saying he would never fight for the UFC. That will change when the undefeated fighter takes on the former champion in Robbie Lawler. Ultimately, I see tons of value on the fight not going the distance.
Lawler has knockout power, while Askren has standout wrestling and ground-and-pound. I believe Askren will simply maul Lawler and get a TKO win in the second or third round.
Or, if that doesn’t happen, Lawler by knockout is the other logical option. Either way, the fight ends in a finish.
Pick: No (+190)
2) Tyron Woodley KOs Kamaru Usman
Method of Victory for Tyron Woodley vs Kamaru Usman | Odds |
---|---|
KO/TKO/DQ | +225 |
Submission | +750 |
Decision | +300 |
Tyron Woodley said it best at the press conference: how can Kamaru Usman beat him? He also said he does everything Usman does but better, which is true. Woodley will no doubt in my mind, hear “And Still”, but the question is how will he win the fight?
Kamaru isn’t worried how his D-II wrestling credentials stack up against Tyron Woodley’s D-I All-American accolades ?
“I beat a lot of Division I guys…[Woodley] is the type of guy I would have beat the sh*t out of.”

Frankly, I don’t see the submission happening at all given that Woodley and Usman have phenomenal wrestling which will negate each other. With that, I see Woodley knocking out Usman, meaning the prop on Woodley winning by KO/TKO/DQ has serious value and something people should bet on.
3) Zhang vs Torres Ends Early
Will Zhang vs Torres Go the Distance? | Odds |
---|---|
Yes | -300 |
No | +250 |
There is no question most strawweight fights go the decision, but this one I see ending in a finish. Weili Zhang is the real deal and has serious knockout power and I think she does exactly that and knocks out Tecia Torres.
A key strawweight pairing between @TeciaTorres and Weili Zhang takes place on Saturday’s #UFC235 main card.

Torres is hard to finish, but Zhang has the knockout power to do so and will have a coming-out party of sorts on Saturday night.
4) Jon Jones Beats Anthony Smith in the 3rd/4th Round
What Round Will Jon Jones Win In? | Odds |
---|---|
Round 1 | +150 |
Round 2 | +225 |
Round 3 | +600 |
Round 4 | +1200 |
Round 5 | +2000 |
Decision | +700 |
I am very comfortable saying Jon Jones will defend his belt against Anthony Smith and win the fight inside the distance. But, Smith is very tough to finish and as his nickname says, he has the heart of a lion.
Jones will have his hand full, but given how big of a favorite Jones is, it is worth putting money on what round he wins in. Although many think it will be a blowout, several fighters I have talked to believe it will be closer than you may think.

Ultimately, I have to agree with them as I think there is a lot of value on the round three or four prop bet which could net some serious cash.
5) Jones TKOs Smith
Method of Victory for Jon Jones | Odds |
---|---|
KO/TKO/DQ | +100 |
Submission | +175 |
Decision | +700 |
Similar to the prop bet above, I have huge confidence that Jones wins the fight inside the distance. Now, if you are going to bet the round, I think adding the KO/TKO/DQ prop makes some sense as well. Smith has solid jiu-jitsu which will make it tough for Jones to submit him.
I think this fight ends with a TKO win for Jones via ground-and-pound, which gives you plus money instead of just betting on Jones straight up.
UFC 235 Bonus Props
This is a straight Hail Mary shot, but if you have a few extra bucks you can spare, why not throw a few dollars on two props with huge potential payouts:
- Cody Garbrandt beats Pedro Munhoz by submission (+2000)
- Anthony Smith winning by decision (+1600)
