Notes on the 2023-24 La Liga title odds movement over the course of the season:

  • [May 5] Real Madrid have won the 2024 La Liga title! Los Blancos‘ 3-0 win over Cadiz on Sunday, combined with Barcelona’s 4-2 loss at Girona, have guaranteed Madrid their thirty-sixth league title with four matches remaining in the season.
  • [Mar 20] Girona’s miraculous run to the title may well be over. La Blanquivermells have fallen to third, as Real Madrid (-5000) continues to cement a path to their 36th league title.
  • [Feb 14] Real Madrid’s 4-0 demolition of Girona last weekend extended their lead to five points and cemented los blancos as La Liga favorites at -2000.
  • [Dec 20] The surprise package of the season is still Girona who lead La Liga after 17 rounds of play, making them the third-favorites (+500) behind Real Madrid (-200) and Barcelona (+450).
  • [Oct 10] In the summer, Girona had odds of +100000, but after a 7-1-1 start that sees them second in the table entering the October international break, they are now fourth favorites at +8000
  • [Jul 19] At even-money, Real Madrid have opened as favorites over Barcelona (+130) for the La Liga title

Barcelona claimed their 27th title last season. That still leaves them eight back of Real Madrid for the most titles (35) all-time.

Barca took home the title with 88 points and a 28-4-6 record. That was ten points more than Real Madrid in second place (78) and 11 more than third place Atletico Madrid (77). Real Sociedad rounded out the top four last season with 71 points.
